Nah. We don’t want any kind of intrusion. However, the market exists for high quality eggs (and these are high quality - orange yellow yolks and terrific tasting) and we try to make feed costs from that market segment. Excess production goes to families in need.
I may build a tractor for bed cleaning next season. For the most part, they range through four paddocks and graduate in late season to unlimited range. Haven’t lost one to a predator yet but they also have a snug, bullet-proof coop they head for before the sun goes down. No vampire problems, either.
