isn’t that coluding with the enemy? Just asking.
I agree, but it seems highly unlikely to me that Iran prefers Romney over Obama the Incompetent. Unless they are just really, really stupid.
If this can be verified for tonight's debate, it will be fireworks going off underneath Obama. BUT I'll bet that the Obama camp will just deny, deny, deny, and try to use it as a trap for Romney.
I think it will hurt him more with the Jewish vote..
Concur.
That is my thinking..
What's bizarre about this is that it's unclear that Obama even recognizes America's "right of access and use of the nuclear technology".
If left to his own devices, Obama would almost certainly unilaterally gut America's nuclear defenses.
Obama is a sick puppy and a dangerous idiot.
Rings true...remember what Zero told the Russians-—”I’ll be more flexible after the election.”
Agreed. I don’t trust a word anyone in the Iranian government says.
PING!!
This should be major news if true.....it’s treason...yet nothing..crickets!! No one even asks the obvious questions.
Nuclear Arms race in the mideast in 3-2-1.....
Can’t wait for Romney to tear into this!
With the cover-up in Libya and now this as all possible talking points for tonight, how exactly is Obama going to reasonably explain this?? I’m half expecting him to turn up ill and have the debate cancelled.
One problem - The Iranians are even less trustworthy than the Obama White House.
Has this story been corroborated?
Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler worked so well at giving “peace in our time” I can see Obama doing the same. Perhaps he should bring Chamberlain’s trademark umbrella to the debate tonight.
How would one verify such a thing in time for the debate? My Spidey sense says this may be an attempt at getting Romney to accuse Obama in prime time of an unverified story so as to accuse Romney of "shooting first and asking questions later." That would explain this story (or shades of it in regards to reports of a "deal" with Iran) being put out by the NYT and other liberal mouth pieces.
What does the U.S. gain from this? Democrats always punish our friends and reward our enemies.
bttt
But his angle was that the announcement would break in favor of Obama because the Iranians would agree to some kind of major limitation on their nuclear program in exchange for recognization of the program.
What's interesting here is that the Iranians seem to be trumpeting the recognition part but not saying anything about the limitation part. Maybe that will come out later.
By downplaying the limitations, and given the timing, the Iranians seem to want to hurt Obama, not help him. At first blush that seems odd — you'd think they'd prefer a pushover Democrat over a toughminded Republican in the White House — except that they did the same thing to Carter. They withheld the release of the hostages in order to insure Carter's defeat. This despite the fact that Carter was a fan of Khomeini and had helped undermine the Shah. Maybe the Iranians can't help but indulge in the short term satisfaction of unseating an American president even at the expense of longer term advantages.
And even then you have to ask, what advantages did they ever lose under Republican presidents? Were they worse off under Reagan than they would have been under Carter? Maybe they see Republicans as toothless tigers. In fact, maybe they accept Obama's talking point about his ability to rally international support for his actions against Iran (sanctions) as compared to an “isolated” Republican’s. Maybe they see this as all upside.
‘Course this is all sort of speculative without seeing more sourcing for this development.
I agree. This smells like a trap. I'm have no doubt that Romney and his camp are savvy enough to ignore it for tonight's debate.
You are correct. This is a bogus story created by the Iranians to disrupt tonight’s debate and muddy the presidential campaign.
Iran wants Obama to win.
