While on the doll of the Government it is not a particularly honest policy to have any man voting. As one is in essence paying one self from the unwilling pocket of others.
I think at the very minimum there should be 2 mutually exclusive lists:
1: The welfare list.
2: The voter list.
If you want to be one one list you have to be off the other.
No, I don’t dig, and it is not your right; it is a privilege extended under various preconditions. Absentee voting should be for those who can’t legally, physically, or religiously can’t show up on the proscribed day. Extending it to people who choose to live overseas and aren’t willing to fly back is early voting for convenience and wrong.
Travel nurses may or may not stay in one place long enough to register; I guess it depends. Where I live all you have to do is have someone vouch for you on election day. I say your better half should register where they work, fly back for election day, get a new job, or not vote. That is the price for having an election day. Early voting should be for need, not convenience.
Not to pick nits, but it’s the same OPPORTUNITY, there is no right to vote; and I’d argue there should [again] be some restrictions.
At least I can understand the reason for military folk (they frak their voting up ALL the time down here [FL]); I cannot see the same for civilians.
Good law.
