“I will refrain from dissing the dead....”
Me too...I’m saving my vile for Harry Reid and Nazi Pelosi when they kick the bucket.
Just waiting for the NYF vs SF game..
There, I fixed it.
Specter got us Alito and Thomas, and helped destroy Robert Bork. Mixed bag, at best,
and usually very craven.
The betrayal over Obamacare was the last straw.

Yep, Ira will be pretty sad today I reckon.
Yes, thank you Arlen for the gift of Clarence Thomas.
“The Spectre” had such a huge ego that he wants Pennsylvania taxpayers to fund his $10 million dollar Senatorial Library in Filthadelphia (the N’Orleans of the East”. That’s right, he felt that he was as important as a U.S. President. Filthy POS. Good riddance.
It absolutely was.
This writer notes, without remorse, the passing of Arlen Specter.
May he enjoy preforming fellatio while kneeling on the hot coals of Gehenna.
He was approaching 83 so he had a good long run.
My personal assessment is that he did much, much more damage than good for America.
Don’t forget that Specter was on the Warren Commission and one of the fabricators of the outlandish “magic bullet theory”.
For those who aren’t familiar with it but have an interest, take the time to do some research and reading. You will see that outlandish government behavior, lies and cover-ups aren’t anything new.
Even though Specter claimed to be a republican, he was instrumental in the disgusting and unfair “Borking” of Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork, siding with Ted Kennedy and other democrats to keep a solid conservative off the bench.
The seat eventually was filled by Anthony Kennedy in 1988.
So we can fairly state that Arlen helped Ted Kennedy and the democrats turn the court much further left than it would have been with Bork sitting on it.
Part of Arlen’s damaging legacy would be every bad decision the court has made in the last 24 years where Kennedy sided with the other liberal justices.

It’s not for me to judge, but Arlen will get his just reward from his maker.
There was nothing moderate about him, unlike the title states, but I get their meaning.
Already forgotten.
So now he’s a good RINO
For a great contrast, compare the comments on this thread to those on DU when one of ours dies or even has an accident or illness.
Glad he lost his seat, and wished that had occurred sooner; but his death is nothing to gloat over, or use as an excuse to excoriate him.
May his family and friends find comfort.
I hope so, also.

This one is even better. Captures the anger towards the way “obamacare” was shoved down our throats.
