I lived in Hesperia for a bit & ventured into Victorville a few times.

They were *most* polite to me as I always had my big ole German Shepherd with me. I was given a VERY wide berth.

Saw a white boy and a Hispanic almost get in it, and another Hispanic got behind the white boy with a knife, but NO ONE with a knife got behind the other Hispanic fighter .

My wife and I visited Yosemite a few years ago. When we left we drove south towards Barstow. We needed a memory thingamajig for my camera, so we drove to a Victorville BestBuy to purchase the part. On the way back to Barstow where we were staying the night, we took a road that went past the old Roy Rogers Melody Ranch. I was somewhat distressed to see a lot of junk/litter by the sides of the road. Southwest Barstow looked like a disaster area. What gives with all the junked homes?
