that’s funny....I’m sure I heard Ed Rendell assure us that having casinos would solve ALL of our economic problems till the end of time...
Just think about it! A casino can’t even keep it’s operation going in this economy.
It boggles the mind almost, sure gambling is there to fleece the “suckers”, excuse me I mean patrons, out of their money. But what a Casino sells most of all is HOPE. Hope that somehow you can make a lot of money suddenly and live the good life, a least for awhile.
So as I see it, even hope is gone there in Connecticut. They can’t afford it anymore.
Tongue in cheek...
if its a state casino, its very very bad news.....the states need this revenue flow.....infact, all state run or private casinos need to do well, because they pay taxes, unlike the indian casinos, who sock billions away tax free....
as long as govt run or private casinos pay taxes I want them to expand everywhere, and force indian casinos out, or to negotiate and pay taxes....the billions lost in tax revenue is pure insanity...
So many states have casino gambling now, and can do it much cheaper than in Connecticut
You do not hear the Mississippi casinos shutting down...and they get whacked by hurricanes every now and then. And Miss. does not have the moneyed people like CT and metro NYC, BOS does
Florida has also opened up the Indian casinos, allowing them to have legit slot machines. You wanna go to FL or CT for vacation?
I think its more than a bad economy
as long as govt run or private casinos pay taxes I want them to expand everywhere

Somewhat like a bar on every corner...eventually NO ONE makes any money, there are only just so many customers to go around.
Remember the great scheme to get smokers to pay for health care?
Only problem is/was they were expecting smokers to foot the bill while at the same time spending the money (what they don’t misroute or downright steal) coming in on anti smoking material, plus tax themselves right out of existence.
The ultimate PONZI SCHEME....once everyone is a member, the well is dried up.
Mostly black blood in this "Indian"
