Most R’s were too cowardly or too stupid to oppose TARP. Even Bush after leaving office still claims it was necessary to save the free market economy. On that basis alone Akin is smarter than the vast majority of R’s.

That Tinky Winky Rove hates Akin is more than enough reason for me to support him.

Unfortunately its opened my eyes to some far more serious moral issues within the conservative movement itself.

The first thing people need to open their eyes to is that there are far too many "Progressive Republicans" who pose as conservatives for convenience and that progressive philosophy is what brings about the conflicting moral issues you're noticing.

It isn't conservatives, it's the PR's in their midst acting as conservatives and issues like this show them for who, and what, they actually are.

Two "Progressive Republicans" as an example and their last name is McCain. I don't need to say (cough, cough...Mittens) anything more.

My congressman was one of those who opposed TARP and we paid for it with a democrat (who voted for Obamacare) for 2 years. The NRCC stripped my congressman, Michele Bachmann, Virgil Goode, and a few others who voted no on TARP of funding in the final weeks of the campaign that year. Fortunately the tea party came along and returned my conservative congressman to Washington in 2010.

Well said, Akin was “clumsy but accurate”.

A traumatic experience can most certainly trigger the woman's body to dump everything out! I can't believe people are still talking about this.

Hey, I believe that Soros and his cabal worked on Akin.

But that's not the problem. The problem was Akin's clumsy handling of the 'political hand grenade'.

The deification of Romney is concerning to say the least.

I can understand and accept people voting for him but the amount of self delusion among his supporters is alarming. They’re treating him like a savior when there is no reason to believe such a thing.

I remember well Bachmann getting that funding yanked right in the heat of her 08 campaign. It looked very dicey there for a while as I remember. Then in 2010 she becomes a fund raising juggernaut.

I certainly hope that Akin can battle through this as MaCaskill is just awful, but the faux conservatives are even more treacherous. They’ll cut your heart out every chance they get.

They called them all "lost cause" races. My congressman only lost by 2% but in 2010 he won by 5% after defeating a party backed republican and 4 other GOP challengers. The democrats spent $8 million losing that seat. This year he defeated 1 GOP challenger with some 74% of the vote and the democrats aren't really challenging for the seat.

Thanks. I think some people are embarrassed to tell a pollster that they are voting for Akin. When they get into the voting booth, they will pull the lever for Akin because McCaskill is loathed in the State of Missouri. Akin can, and just might, win this thing. The Dem turn-out this year will be greatly depressed from ‘08. Rock solid Conservatives will NOT be able to pull the lever for McCaskill in that voting booth.
