We can shoot straighter too.
Rural people are also much much much smarter then urban people
My guess is that rural folk don't lie as much (to themselves or others.)
I think there is something to this study, but not in the way they’d like it to play: our cities are filling with “replacement Americans” (generally from Latin America and Asia) who are much “lighter” than the multigenerational welfare sows they are displacing in those cities (that have had their “cash-for-kids” program cut ff since the 1996 welfare reform - thus dramatically reducing their numbers).
Anyone who has actually been to the welfare reservations in the cities know there is no way even the heaviest “Wal-Mart types” can hold a candle to some of their urban counterparts raised on gubmint cheese and KFC.
You are correct.
Lotsa problems here... what do they say is rural? The young boys around here are lean, mean fightin’ machines.
The real farm boys, that is. Not the town boys who don’t do sh_t except leave the couch to get a soda.
Bump for later
I can almost smell the bacon that is for breakfast tomorrow.
Somebody with better html skills that I possess can post this appropriate picture: http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=i.4747313980573567&pid=1.9
Possibly....I recall a sports story from the 1980’s though commenting on “Midwest (Brawn?) and Coastal Quickness.” Basically the linemen were farm boys and then the skill positions were urban kids.
I realize that’s not a valid cross-section though....
The females in the “urban kids” families can probably play as linemen; Midwest brawn has nothing on them (though the NCAA and NFL probably wouldn’t allow those scooters on the field).
I’m so jaded...
From what I’ve read, inner city students also rate themselves as “smarter” than most students. I guess the the urban welfare recipients are smarter and slimmer than the nation as a whole.
On a similar note, am I the only person wondering why Michelle Obama and her ilk are forcing schools and New Yorkers to eat healthy and still allowing food stamp recipients to buy fatty cuts of meat, potato chips, etc., all on the tax payer dime - doesn’t seem quite right to me . . . .
Washington, D.C. is full of fat urbanites.

I suppose it all depends on what they mean by "cities."
Does 280,000 qualify?
Funny thing about the obese rural people ... I live way out in fly-over country and don’t see it that way. Matter of fact, while watching the kids at the state fair dairy cattle show I noticed a trend. Of the 50 or so participants from all over the state ... only one was noticeably overweight.
There’s some genetics involved, too. My most active kid helps his dad on the farm, mows our yard and our in-laws’, worked with 4-H calves, worked at the neighbor’s tree nursery, took care of a big garden all summer ... he’s kind of big.
His teen-age sister, who spends an awful lot of time on the computer or watching TV, is basically a stick. The youngest is in between the two extremes. Go figure ...
Rural Suicides Far Exceed Urban Suicides
Suicide rates are on the rise in rural areas, according to a new study. Compared to urban areas, rural men are committing suicide 54% more often.
http://www.planetizen.com/node/40894
suicides occur at a higher rate in rural areas than in cities or suburbs, with the rate rising steadily the more rural the community.

Another reason for UN Agenda 21....It is for our health.
