The DOJ prosecutor was O. John Rogge who was a personal acquaintance of Stalin's, maybe even a friend if anyone could be his friend. Rogge did visit with Stalin.
Truman fired Rogge from DOJ.
Truman, Prompted By Wheeler, Ordered Dismissal Of Rogge
.. but some of the luster is removed from Truman's act when I read that Rogge prosecuted Kansas City Boss Tom Pendergast the man who got Truman a seat in the U.S. Senate. Truman didn't need much prompting. Also..
the article verifies that Rogge actually did go to Germany after the war to try to find ways to link the Nazis to Americans with whom he had disputes (like a Senator friend of President Truman's and labor leader John L. Lewis). That's probably what got him fired.. not his illegal persecutions of FDR critics.
There was plenty to dislike in Obama's speech. There's even more to dislike in the way this was excerpted.
See, now, that's why Texas has the best state board of all 57 states!
But it does appear that Obama and his handlers and speechwriters have read it. Sadly, instead of the cautionary tale that it is, they see in it the blueprint for destroying the Republic.
