A waste of money during convention week. Got to spend that money wisely. Now if they aren’t running ads in another two weeks....that’s a problem.

As the Democratic convention wraps up Thursday, the Romney campaign is preparing to launch a new round of ad buys worth $4.5 million in eight swing states, according to NBC News.

NBC News pegs his ad spending at roughly $1 million in Florida, Ohio and Virginia; $600,000 in North Carolina and additional funds in Colorado, Iowa, Nevada and New Hampsire.

Two Romney spokespersons declined requests from TPM to confirm or dispute the figures. One said the campaign does not discuss ad buys.

The news comes alongside a report that the Romney campaign and his allies have pulled their ads from the battleground states of Michigan — the candidate’s home state — and Pennsylvania.

The NBC report notes that the Obama campaign is outspending the Romney campaign in ads, but when outside groups are factored in, the Republican nominee has the edge by $303 million to $269 million.

With the economy as dreadful as it is, how can anyone truly be ‘undecided’? Maybe these people are trying to avoid a confrontation or being labeled ‘racist’ because they don’t support the Marxist moron currently squatting in the White House?

Good on Romney on getting out of Penn if this is true. The GOP is NOT going to win a national election there. Leaving Michigan sucks if true since he’s polling well there, but I suspect they want to really go after WI.

???? The party preference I read said Dem 41, Rep 31, Ind 21???

41-37. Plus the black population assumed is just under 12%, which matches the black population in Ohio, so that's not over or under sampled (that's been an issue in some other state polls). So this looks like a reasonable sample, though people should keep in mind that there's a margin of error.

Romney’s ad spending is supposed to open up big time starting tomorrow according to what I read.

“The recovery “on the right track” narrative will be put front and center 24/7. Romney needs to be prepared for this.”

The “recovery” BS will be trumpeted right up until the election; Romney needs to personalize it and ask the voters how their recoveries are going. Should take the wind out of the BS...

“The rule of thumb is undecideds break for the challenger.”

The dems are saying the rule of thumb will not apply to this election.

You mean 2+2 isn't 5???

Only for large values of 2 and small values of 5.

The ADP number is not always an accurate indicator of the BLS numbers because they do not take into account any of the jobs lost/creatwedn the government sector.

There have been months where a large ADP number was met with a much smaller BLS number.

This is a State poll and not a nationwide one. The D/R/I mix in Ohio could very well be a +10 Dem.

True, but you wouldn’t know that from 2010, when Akron & Dayton kicked out black Dem mayors for white Republicans, or kicked out the Dem gov for KSich, or wihich kicked out a couple more Dem congressmen . . .

The fact Romney is up 3 in a smaple showing Dems+ anything is a good indicator of his strength and the effectivness of his campaign so far.

I wonder if Boehner has any clout that he can lend to Romney. Does the Speaker have coattails?

They're too tear-soaked to be of much use.
