Black and white TV? What’s wrong about that?
Amos and Andy was a great, funny show.
Just never expected hustler George Kingfish Stevens would become President of the United States.

(“If you didn’t DVR it, let me recap it for you,” Obama said. “Everything’s bad. It’s Obama’s fault. And Gov. Romney is the only one who knows the secret to creating jobs and growing the economy. There was a lot of talk about hard truths and bold choices but nobody ever bothered to tell you what they were.”)

1. Everything is BAD..
2. It is Obama,s fault as he has been President for 3.5 years.
3. Yes Mitt Romney knows how to create jobs as he has a HISTORY of doing so and Obama has only created unemployment.

"“Despite all the challenges that we face … what they offered over those three days was more often than not an agenda that was better suited for the last century."

Congratulations, Mr. President! Wouldn't all of us cherish America's agenda all the way back to 1776 and 1787!!!! Or, even back to the 20th Century Reagan era, when leaders spoke of individual liberty and limited government!

The First President, in his Farewell Address warned us about people who would promote another agenda for this America--an agenda more akin to Old World ideas of big government and oppression of individuals than to those of America's Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

Today, like no other time in our past, we need this warning from the First President of the United States' excerpted from his "Farewell Address" to us all:

"This government, the offspring of our own choice, uninfluenced and unawed, adopted upon full investigation and mature deliberation, completely free in its principles, in the distribution of its powers, uniting security with energy, and containing within itself a provision for its own amendment, has a just claim to your confidence and your support. Respect for its authority, compliance with its laws, acquiescence in its measures, are duties enjoined by the fundamental maxims of true liberty. The basis of our political systems is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government. But the Constitution which at any time exists, till changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole people, is sacredly obligatory upon all. The very idea of the power and the right of the people to establish government presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established government. (Underlining added)

" All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests.

"However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.

"Towards the preservation of your government, and the permanency of your present happy state, it is requisite, not only that you steadily discountenance irregular oppositions to its acknowledged authority, but also that you resist with care the spirit of innovation upon its principles, however specious the pretexts. One method of assault may be to effect, in the forms of the Constitution, alterations which will impair the energy of the system, and thus to undermine what cannot be directly overthrown." - George Washington (Excerpted from Farewell Address")

There is a need for sharing with generations who may never have read it this portion of President Washington's warnings about the need to preserve "the People's" own Constitution and its limitations on grants of power to government from those who might wish to "change" and "transform" in the name of "helping" us.

Obama’s boilerplate 19th Century socialism is fit for the kinetoscope, so 50’s TV is the World of Tomorrow by comparison.

There was a thread about that yesterday. I’m not sure about hillbuz, although some FReepers had kind things to say about it. I’m just not that familiar with them. But it really left me wondering.

IF there is fact behind the article, it has to be a death knell for the administration. Just over 2 months to the election and we’re reading about the Obama’s thinking of moving to Hawaii in 4 months? If democrats read that, it’s over. No one will want to cast a vote for him. Why bother?

The other, remotest, possibility, is that it’s Michelle, her mama and kids who are considering the move, leaving Obama in the WH. That would, of course, be a slap in the face of the American public. But, if he wins, why would they care?

The final possibility is the author was fed a bunch of pap and believed it. At this point, that’s how I’m taking it, until, unless, something comes along to support it.

black-and-white TV, 1950's ...

Hmmmmmm. Dwight Eisenhower started/built out the Interstate Highway System, the last actual investment this federal government made in infrastructure that benefited the people, not some employees or union pension fund.

Dwight Eisenhower - while he was President, the national debt decreased 3 times out of 8 years, including the last time the national debt decreased from year to year; 1960.

Dwight Eisenhower - President Eisenhower sent federal troops to walk little Black kids into a school in Little Rock, Arkansas, because the Governor, a Democrat named Orval Faubus, was standing the doorway keeping those little Black kids out of that classroom.

The TV's might have not been high-tech, but the quality of leadership we had available to us would have filled any jumbo screen. Isn't that right, Mr Empty Chair President?

President Obama didn’t watch the Republican convention, but that didn’t stop him from blasting Mitt Romney’s Tampa party as a throwback to bad times gone by.

Didn't watch, but has comments on...? Obviously, just another LIE...again and again and again. Disgusting.

It’s funny you said that! I was just talking with a couple of fellows who were in one of our state parks for a Mountain Man Roundezvous today. They were talking about how cool old Clint Eastwood was at the convention w/his speech. They loved his speech! One fellow referred to himself as something of a liberal, but was favorable to Mitt Romney, he said he didn’t have a problem with him being a Mormon!

He said he was actually afraid for Obama to get back in, because he thought he was too far left, and would make the U.S. into a Socialist state! He and the other guy, were talking about how Obama was not really all black but red, or black and red! (like Communist)I don’t think the other fellow was a liberal, he didn’t really say. But both of them definitely DON’T want Obama to get back in!

He is coming across as nothing more than a petty chump.

Normally, such a thing would be devastating, but the MSM is in full protection mode for him, so it isn’t over yet.

I predict he literally gives away the store next week in his convention. Billions and billions of handouts promised to every malcontent / parasite in the county if only they will show up to vote for him.

Praying there are still more of us out there than them, but it is getting close.

Huh? Obama thinks freedom, prosperity, rule of law, and equal opportunity are values from a by-gone era? Well, I guess that’s true if he is re-elected.

LOL
