I think my tagline will suffice for my commentary on this one

he dropped the purse and struck his head on a pole in the parking lot as he tried to flee.

Sounds like he fell up the stairs and back down again ☺

Very fortunate that the 92 year old gal had nothing more than scrapes and bruises. Going down at this age often results in broken bones.

If the scumbag bit me, the next time he'd bite somebody would be after he regrew a mouth full of teeth.

Hey, this is my hometown!

Funny stuff!!

I worked in the grocery business for several years, Dillon's when in High School, and Safeway while in college. Went to court all the time against shoplifters that I caught.

I love these stories.

Reminds me of the time my dad came upon his mother being browbeat by one of her low life tenants. The guy used every swear word in the book describing an encounter with my dad, except he did not know my dad was in earshot. My dad was a formidable person...he blew past me and hit the guy a shot that literally knocked him through a porch and halfway down the steps. He continued to pummel the guy right into the street.

Something like that would have served the criminal mugger well, guarantee he would think twice before doing it again.

I am thankful this incident ended the way it did.

I understand that the lady’s clutching of her purse was just a reflexive action. But someone should tell her that she risked getting a broken hip, or worse. Nothing in her purse is worth that risk.

Not being a victim is worth that risk.

I think all people who try to rob someone should have their skull fractured.....at a minimum.

Trying to decide whether his self inflicted skull fracture is funnier than if the victim had bonked him on the head with something....preferably a tire iron....?

Actually, we had a 92 yr old lady attend our SAS Ladies Learn to Shoot Day in TX last Saturday.

A gun is a great equalizer—and this lady was handling her gun very well, and hitting the target with every shot at the end of the session.

51 years old and the creep from sewage is robbing an elderly woman. Cracked skull is the least of his sick ailments. He’s lucky to still be on the topside of the terra firma.

Sounds like an easy lawsuit for putting a pole in a dangerous location.

“I hope the scum bag did not have some kind of disease.”

No kidding. I have dealt with this type of criminal defendant before. Some of them appear to have never brushed their teeth in their lives, and have breath which could gag a vulture. Visible gunk has accreted on their teeth. Bites from these ‘urban values’ types are not infrequent nor are they insignificant.

One of my all time favorite stories is very similar. I read about it in the newspaper. An old lady was accosted by a knickledragging purse snatcher. She refused to let go and a tug or war ensued. A man stopped in his old Buick, got out, removed a snub nosed .38 from his pocket and shot the knuckledragger in the kneecap. He returned to his car and drove away. The old lady picked up her stuff and walked away. Cops arrive to see a bloody perp holding his knee.

Judging by the location, car description and actions, I think the hero was a the father of a friend of mine.
