For all of the pretensions that big government, especially the Democrat form of it, is on the side of the "little guy" no such thing has ever really developed

FDR managed to avoid it, but as soon as he was dead the urban-liberal ward heelers embraced Civil Rights politics wall-to-wall, which was really a "disenfranchise Mr. Charlie" movement, a resuscitation of the Black Republican politics of 1866, when blacks were given the vote and whites deprived of it, precisely and only to silence, prostrate, and helotize the people who'd lost the Civil War. Which was started, btw, by the other side, for that exact end in view, because Southerners led the agrarian, anti-banking party that was standing in the way of a New York payday.

After World War II it started all over again, ostensibly because whites wouldn't allow blacks their civil rights (which was true) but actually because the old, populist Southern mossbacks wouldn't sign on with State socialism espoused by the Red wing of the Democratic Party, but black ward heelers in the North, would and did (Frank Marshall Davis -- remember him?).

The TEA party is a large threat to the GOP. So large, the eGOP will throw the election in order to marginalize it.

They can't do that now, not after solidly identifying with the Romney campaign -- the RNC and the Romney campaign are a single, continuous tissue of issue-manipulators playing a very short hand, limited by their perception that the Left has "won" every single argument on the table for the last 80 years. If they lose, that will not be the last of their resources, but it will be the last of their credibility -- which is already amazingly low.

Pottery Barn Rule now in effect for Rove and the rest of the Romney-pushers.

I dont know where Sarah is these days. I’m at a bit of a loss to explain her intentions. My speculation, and its only speculation, is she let the mask slip a bit with her 3rd party quip about Todd Akin.
