Rush Limbaugh addressed this same issue, yesterday.

The establishment Republicans want to kick the conservatives out of the party. They don't want the conservatives having any say-so in the party whatsoever. And I'll give you one example why. It's an AP story. The Republican establishment, read this AP story. Rather than get mad at the AP, rather than get fighting mad at the impugning of members of the Republican Party, rather than get mad at that, they cower in fear and say, "How can we make the AP stop writing this stuff?" And they conclude that the only way to pull that off is to get rid of any conservative influence at all. And one way you can do that is keep 'em out of the convention and keep 'em out of the platform fights.

I like the idea of a third party — too long has this nation had to sit on a two-legged barstool.

Now we know why GOP News, I mean FOX News kicked her off tonight. As usual, it’s fair and balanced between Republocrats and Demicans, but if you really want to restore power to the people, you’ll be shown the door. I doubt her contract gets renewed now.

The first big change is to incorporate a NEW Republican National Committee in some state ~ then invite the state Republican (and other parties) to send delegates to a convention.

There's your new party with the GOP-e named and ID'd and cut loose to do whatever it is they want to do ~ but without the people who do the work and do the voting.

I would anticipate that some time in January would be the earliest we could get that off the ground ~ but what a welcome for a new President Romney ~ no party behind him except Boehner and Cantor.

Oh, about those states, some of them WILL NOT BE INVITED ~ they have to start the Republican party all over again SANS every single official they have now. Rhode Island, Connecticut, California ~ they spring to mind. The current crowd isn't winning anything, so we need a totally new crowd ~ they certainly can't do worse.

Now THAT I could get behind.

The Quisling Moderates are not going to be allowed in our New Conservative Party Sarah and us create. They can stay with the GOP-E

The idea is that where we have a hopeless situation and a moribund Republican presence, we actually create a brand new third-party alternative.

The worst that can happen is we continue to lose elections in those places, but the best thing is that once we get over half the state parties signed on with the NEW Republican National Committee the old GOP-e will have been effectively disgorged at the state level as well WITH MINIMUM DISRUPTION TO ANYTHING MEANINGFUL.

We need to have a filter ~ based on personal history, ideological position, campaigns worked with and so forth so we can quickly identify GOP-e apparatchiks and bar them from party affiliation.

Bingo!

It's not like we can do any worse or hand the elections over to the Democrats, Its the GOP-E who's been doing that!

They are happy being a minority party, just sitting back going to golf games and hobnobbing at the parties.

JUST LIKE THE WHIGS IN THE 1850's!!!

The GOP got its start as THE third party and if they are too stupid to learn from the Whigs mistakes, then they deserve to join them in extinction!
