Akin must go to deal with his credibility issue, and it ain’t good enough to say Democrats do it too.

I come at all this from a fairly low opinion of Republicans. I see myself as in a flimsy alliance with them that is only fixed on election day when I’m stuck voting for them. They are on “my” side because two and only two sides are permitted in the conversation. Otherwise....

If more men took responsibility like most did years ago, we would not be in this godless mess.

^^^^^

If more 18 to 24 year old girls did not buy into the ‘free love’ aka ‘hooking up’ phenomenon, they would not be faced with so many abortion decisions.

I don’t blame these girls as I blame the women who came before them - promoting “equality.” The girls are indoctrinated by the time they get to high school that sex does not have any consequences at all.

Your the one who was confident in your position so you should jump all over those odds.

I don't make $10,000 bets. My name's not Mitt Romney.

Otherwise, 100% divided up among three or more parties will only result in a plurality....not a majority.

Replace the RATs.

Some of the other republicans could bring up Biden’s gaffes, and then go into Obama’s record on abortions. Romney could have brought up all of the above if he had been asked. It doesn’t really matter now....it’s done:o(

If more men took responsibility like most did years ago, we would not be in this godless mess.

The politically correct "tolerance" culture has removed the stigma associated with out-of-wedlock childbirth. Because of that and the "anything goes" culture, there is virtually no deterrent against premarital sex. And there is almost no encouragement to have a "shotgun wedding" if the sex results in a pregnancy. "Shame" is as out-of-fashion in our culture as anything ever has been. If you don't have shame over and stigmas against behavior that involves short-term pleasure but long-term damage, you will get more of that behavior.

I'm not totally sure how to turn things around. Individual families can certainly raise the children the right way, but how can the rest of us who are already doing it move the culture further in our direction? Getting rid of the partial government monopoly on education would help. If we could institute complete school voucher programs everywhere, children would have a greater opportunity to education that includes moral and religious values in it. Religion overall needs a better marketing campaign. If there was more entertainment out there that was top-quality and widely appealing, but also taught old-fashioned moral values, that would help.

why not put it in an ad..like the Freeper above with the Akin ad.

but , then, maybe we just need to get off this topic, cause it all defelcts from “Its the econmy , Stupid.” We should get Clinton’s old ads where he says that and use it against Obozo.

The thing that bothers me is how it seems kids today are using abortion as the preferred birth control method.

ROFLOL, you sound like Romney. He doesn’t make #10,000 bets either. But it does blow a hole in your credibility saying something you know as a fact. You are talking the talk but not walking the walk. (Sorry for my laughter but it’s a slow Sunday around here.)

Since the story won’t go away, it’s not done. If given the opportunity it can still be done. o( works unless o) takes place.

This is what frustrated many of us with GW Bush. He kept letting things like this go un-responded to when he could have nailed Democrats over their handling similar events.

I agree except this was a good opportunity to nail the Democrats and then change the conversation to what’s more important. There is no reason to to preface a comment, nailing the Democrats with facts, and then moving on to the topic we’d rather talk about, jobs and the economy.

Worse, we COULD have screwed them to the wall over it and we didn’t. This is totally a losing argument for Democrats.

By the way, we could have also nailed the media for NOT doing their job.

Speaking of Dubya....

....I heard Karl Rove say something interesting the other day.

He said, and I closely paraphrase: “Look, I worked with one of the most dedicated naval gazers on the world....” and then went on to compare Dubya with, well I guess another naval gazer.

It sure caught my attention.

So what exactly comes to mind when one is called a “naval gazer”? Someone who tries to figure out everything, even the purpose of naval lint?

I dunno, a naval gazer is not how I’d think of Dubya Bush but that’s what Rove said.

Not questioning you or Rove, but this does not seem to make sense.

The left insists Bush was out of touch with reality but in fact he was quite engaged with both domestic and foreign events and policy.

I fault GW Bush for numerous missteps but this isn’t one of them. Let me know if you learn something different.

Rove?

Sorry, but I’ve had him off my list of Credibles ever since...well, pretty much ever since the media started babbling about how stinkin’ smart the guy was.

(Yes, Virginia, I do use the MSM as a Perfect Negative Barometer. JMHO, it’s their one and only function and has been since dirt.)

Not doing their job is huge.Another one who is not doing his job is ozero! For the life of me I can not understand how he gets away with 200 fund raisers, a zillion golf outings, and getting away with letting Valerie Jarret basically do his job!! Why will no one call him on that? I don’t get it!!

Yes you do. It’s all the media and that fact that almost all of them are 0zero supporters and agree with his social programs and 0zero’s vision for America. Well, they do now but they have no idea what that would really mean. If 0zero’s America were a reality the media would be the first to complain that it isn’t what they wanted or expected.
