ARE people REALLY dumb enough to have previously intended to vote for Romney and are now voting for Obama due to an idiotic statement made by another person about HIS own beliefs?

The polling internals have already shown it's REPUBLICANS who are abandoning Romney in Missouri, not Democrats or Independents. That's probably because of Romney's statist instinct to dictate to Missouri who their candidate should be instead of respecting their state's right to make their own choice.

Therein lies the entire problem. With Akin it’s all about feelings. With you it’s all about feelings. There are no feelings in politics. We need to WIN. Period.

Winning is absolutely meaningless if you lower yourself to the level of your opponents to do so. We need to STAND ON PRINCIPLE. Period.

He should have disassociated himself from the remarks and then said he was leaving it up to Akin and the GOP in Missouri to decide how to move forward.

Even now, Romney and the RNC NEED to say they were offended by his remarks, but have listened to his apology, believe he's sincere and know that McCaskill is far worse for the state and will support anyone trying to defeat her. If they don't, they will be the ones ultimately responsible for losing the Senate race in Missouri. They will not give Akin a chance to recover in the polls if they let McCaskill outspend him 12 to 1.

“As the controversy over Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin’s “legitimate rape” comment continues, Mitt Romney’s lead in Missouri has vanished.”

Posters should not get hysterical over this — at least not yet.

Visit the source page of the article above. Romney’s polling numbers in Missouri have been all over the place. As it is, Obama’s “lead” of 47-46 is within the margin of error.

It will take at least one more survey by Rasmussen before we get a clearer picture of how the election is “firming up” there.
