It sounds like fatboy has a problem with democracy. He needs to stick to doing whatever the hell it is that he does for a day job. Fat, white boys throwing the race card is very unAmerican.
Someone should tell this Martin fella that a recent Washington Post poll has determined that Voter ID is supported by 60 percent of the Dems and 65 percent of the blacks.
I read the first few books in this series when they came out, and very much enjoyed them. But I feel no great urge to read the new novels of the revived series, which appears to have been revived because he stands to make some good money from the TV series.
There was a long delay, and the reviews aren’t good. Nor do I feel any great urge to re-read the first books at this point.
Another nobody weighs in. There’s really nothing to say but to respond to the ickin’ fudiot in kind.
LOL! Well, that shows he has the IQ of a bed bug.
Nothing a week or two of binge eating won't relieve.
Try to swipe a slice of his pizza and he’ll rip your arm off.
Eligible for the draft during the Vietnam War, to which he objected, Martin applied for and obtained conscientious objector status; he instead did alternative service work for two years as a VISTA volunteer.
Haven’t read the books. Watched both HBO mini-series. They’re okay. Each episode is typically a rotation of sex scenes, fight scenes, and characters telling one another war/whore stories (depending on the gender of the speaker).
Eventually, it turns into one dang thing after another: a sex scene, a fight scene, a tall tale, a fight scene, a tall tale, a sex scene, a tall tale, a sex scene, a fight scene... It’s easy to lose track of who is who and why you even care after a while. Especially after Rob Stark dies. “Dragon Lady” is the only stand-out character at this point.
George wrote one of the more beautiful short SF stories I’ve read, “A Song for Lya.” Unfortunately, that was back in ‘74. He’s had plenty of time to get full of himself, and apparently, full of BS, too.
TUESDAY ADDENDUM: Okay, this has been running several days now, has been featured on HUFFINGTON POST and ABC news, referenced on Stephanie Miller, and no doubt countless other people. We have had four hundred messages, and I think everyone has had their say, and everything that needs to be said has been said. Generally eight or ten times. There are plenty of links and references in the comment threads for those who would like to know more about these voter suppression efforts. If you don’t want to dig through the links, start with the Brennan Center for Justice and get the facts.
There’s no sense in letting this spin on in circles forever. I am locking comments. Back to Westeros and worldcon and similar subjects, boys and girls.

After the fact, any way. You're mentioning stuff that hasn't aired yet. Just saying.

Well, nobody ever said you had to be smart to be a fiction writer. All I know is I won’t be putting any more of my hard-earned money in this guys pocket.
I watch it too on HBO and the series is okay. If I wanted to read his books I would use the library. I certainly wouldn’t buy them.
