“These children will need to institutionalized for their schooling. It is a shame.”

So now you are advocating public boarding schools. I think Mao, Hitler, and Stalin would agree with that.

You should thank me. I did you a favor.

If you identify the program’s name, and mention that things have radically changed, you will not confuse, and, yes, **shock** and confuse, those who may have graduated form medical, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, physical therapy school, etc., decades ago and are now retired.

These are my exact words. They are calm and rational words. They are a** KIND** and thoughtful suggestion!

“Perhaps, you should clarify this with your daughter before mentioning the story to others. “

If you choose to see this as something different than being a kind and thoughtful comment about something anyone of my generation and education would find shocking, confusing, and almost unbelievable, I can not help that. it is you who must examine your own heart.

Your later post clarified the issue for me, and I, again, kindly suggest that you include this information when telling this story to others of my age and education.

1) Brick and mortal schools are institutions. Children who attend these brick and mortar schools are, therefore, **institutionalized** for their education.

The rest is a strawman of your creation. Perhaps you can explain what **you** mean about Pol pot and Moa style boarding schools.

Please answer the questions. What is the problem? Can’t find those answers in your little book of propaganda?

Yes, the **trashed** Wisconsin capitol building was, indeed, outrageous. That was done by teachers and their fellow travelers.

So your answer is that we should institutionalize children with bad parents? I thought public schools, known to you as institutions, were terrbile, terrible places. So now you want to take these poor kids, who through no fault of their own were born to bad parents, and forcibly send them to these horrible places. Isn't that sorta like kicking a cat after its already dead? Shame on you for supported these awful institutions.

You should notice I did say FREEPMAIL - not in the general forum.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Do you remember the appearance of the MILLIONS of dollars of damage done to the Wisconsin capitol building?

So? Be honest, now. Do you think it would be wise for me to give out any personal identifying information in any form, even in Freepmail, that might in any way be pick-up by a thug that would do that kind of damage to a state capitol?

Once again you must be reminded not all teachers are union members - point of fact, as has been pointed out to you numerous times - teachers ARE NOT unionized in Virginia.

It is too bad, but some parents are too lazy, too stupid, too materialistic, too ill-educated, too poor, too sick, too mentally ill, too preoccupied, too distracted, too undisciplined, too immoral..etc,...to homeschool.

Wow - just wow. And you have the nerve to accuse others of personal attacks upon you?

your little book of propaganda?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Wow! This list of personal insults is getting to be very long. And....This is just this thread.

I have now be **personally** insulted by being accused of having a little book of propaganda, and being an idiot, a bully, the Queen of Personal Attacks, accused of being a braggart, vicious, snide, told to get mental health treatment, and accused of lying.

And...I have likely missed a few **personal** insults and failed to list them.

Once again you are taking anecdotal evidence and applying it to all teachers. What you saw in Wisconsin was completely orchestrated by hard core leftists. Besides, this argument is over because you have gone on record as being in support of public schools. Albeit, you would rather call them institutions. The unions will soon be seeking your support. Have a nice day!

Do you see the words, “**SOME** parents”!

No one is personally identified!

In **fact** there are SOME ( that is a GENERAL statement) parents who are, indeed, incapable of homeschooling for all the reasons I listed. They are reasons often given by those ( GENERALLY) defending government schooling ( IN GENERAL) . These dysfunctional parents ( IN GENERAL) should institutionalize their children for their schooling. Their local socialist-entitlement schooling institution is likely the only and best option for many ( “many” means IN GENERAL) .

Gee! I would think that anyone ( In GENERAL) supporting government schooling ( IN GENERAL) would agree with me.

Are you saying you were in Wisconsin at the trashed capitol building?

I absolutely do **NOT** think you were in Wisconsin at their capitol building or did any of that damage. Seriously, I don't!

However....When it comes to personal information, it is impossible to know who is lurking on these threads. I saw a lot of unionized government teachers in the crowds at the Wisconsin capitol building and I saw photos of the damage done.

Now...Honestly,...If you were me would you be giving out personally identifying information either publicly or by Freepmail? Would you?

Cute........NOT

Anyone reading this discussion with even a room temperature IQ can see exactly what you are doing with your so-called “general” statements. And you have the nerve to accuse others of tossing out strawmen. Making such false accusations is a personal attack - yet you claim to never make them.......

You have made it perfectly clear the disdain with which you hold anyone who who works in or has a child in a public school - even though you, yourself, have admitted to utilizing them when it suited your lifestyle. You really do need to make up your mind.

Wisconsin seems to me to be a very peaceful, beautiful, and tranquil Midwestern state with lots of rolling hills, cows and cheese, and healthy looking people.

I was shocked to see the behavior of the teachers in Wisconsin and the huge numbers of them at their state capitol and the state of their capitol when they left.

If this can happen in **Wisconsin** , of all places, what am I and others to think about government teachers in general, around the nation. Why should I expect them, as a group, to be different (IN GENERAL) ?

Thank you for including me.

I, unfortunately, don’t have as much time on here as I once did. I have a full class load of 4 co-taught seniors who need to graduate and two Latin I classes that are packed with 30 kids. All my students need my full and undivided attention.

That said, you know where I am, approximately, and how to contact me in several different ways.

I saw a BIG doe on Saturday.:)

Well? ....What should we call the following:

1) Having godless government schools in which children ( who are under police threat to be there) must think and reason godlessly just to cooperate in the godless classroom, read their godless textbooks, and do their godless homework, is this good or bad?

2) What about the people who **willing** seek work to establish, support, and uphold these godless schools and see that these godless schools function every day. Is this good or bad?

3) Is it good to force children ( by way of armed police threat) into government owned and run socialist-entitlement schools where they risk learning that the voting mob is giving them tuition-free schooling? Do you think it is possible that these children might, as they grow older, make the connection that any voting mob that can give them tuition-free schooling is powerful enough to give them **lots** of socialist “free” goodies? Is this good or bad?

4) Is is good or bad to put taxpayers under armed police threat to support godless government schools that **will** teach a child to think and reason godlessly and may teach them to comfortable little socialists?

5) Is it good or bad for government to be trashing the First Amendment Rights of children? Do you think that the children might learn to be complacent and comfortable with government workers trashing their freedoms? Would this be good? Should taxpayers be forced to pay for it?

6) Do government owned and run schools look like prisons? Are children in many way treated like prisoners? Is it possible that these children might learn to be comfortable with being prisoners of the state? Is this good or bad?

I could go on and on... but, I think this enough for Freepers to get the idea.

What am I to think of the above? is it good or bad?

Answer: I don't think it is good. I believe that we should begin the process of privatization. Hopefully, in an ideal world, we could achieve complete separation of school and state with charity educating the poorest among us.

Generalize much? You have repeatedly claimed that teachers did all the damage in Wisconsin when that is so far from the truth.

Do you have proof that even one teacher caused any damage? And do you have any proof that it wasn’t the bussed in union thugs from out of state that did the damage and not Wisconsin residents?

I actually know people who were there and so have heard first hand accounts, as opposed to your speculation in your misguided effort to insult fellow FReepers who happen to be teachers.
