We’ll be lucky to get out of this mess without a Pinochet.
Suharto is more like it, or Pol Pot.
Without a major conversion of hearts, we are headed for mountains of skulls - whenever the antinomian Left gets this much power, that’s how it always ends.
The last word goes to Lenin - “Who - Whom?”

One led a coup to oust a Marxist regime that had been declared unconstitutional by his nations legislature and Supreme Court.
And that is what everyone forgets about Pinochet. Fact: Salvadore Allende’s party had only 35% of the seats in the House of Deputies. The rest of the seats were spread out around a collection of other parties. According to the Chilean constitution, it’s a parliamnetary system where the party with the most seats hgats the presidency for a single six year term. And that is how Allende got in power. Allende then started bringing in operatives from Cuba and East Germany as enforcers. The death toll due to these enforcers was far higher than that attributed to Pinochet.
The rest of the House of Deputies (mind you, up to 65% of the seats) and the Chilean Supreme Court begged Pinochet to act. Pinochet was extemely reluctant at first, but then finally acted.

Chile faced a Marxist opposition that was organized and funded by the Soviet Union. The goal was nothing less than the overthrow of the Chilean Gov’t, and establishing Chile as a Soviet client state in the mold of Cuba.

Did anyone ever notice that the fbi agent, Nick Memphis, in the movie “Shooter” was wearing a che tee shirt?
even NY Times calls the Allende death a suicide now. Forensic evidence.

What's *my* favorite little tidbit about “Che”? As Castro's top adviser during the Cuban Missile Crisis “Che” urged Castro to fire the missiles at the US.

Much about the Left is revealed in their obsession with Che.
When I worked at a school (leftist land), I had a conversation with a teacher regarding Che and why he had him placed alongside pictures of Ghandi, Lincoln, and a few others. He told me it was about Che’s message and his ideas. The focus was completely on what Che said, not what he actually did, as if his words were held higher than his actions. It was sickening and extremely revealing.
When I called him out on it, he was cool, but he didnt have a response. I asked what the point was for idea’s when they are enforced with a sickeningly massive body count. Che’s actions spread misery, fear, and death. I challenged this teacher to speak with another staff member of Cuban heritage whos family fled here during the Cuban Revolution. They lost everything, including family members, to Che and Castro. He invited her to speak to his class and the class actually requested that Che’s picture be removed. It was a fascinating moment during my stint doing IT work in the education sector.
Many on the Left are caught up in this “cult of personality”. As long as you sing lofty idea’s, you can commit the worst atrocities and never be held accountable.

Pinochet was a hero who saved Chile from becoming a Stalinist state under the Soviet-paid traitor Allende. Che ? A bloodthirsty psychotic who turned a successful and productive country into a gulag for a half-century and running.

Allende was in some fashion a controlled communist asset or simply a mole who had been recruited long ago to an agent of influence. His actions in allowing large numbers of communist assets , always referred to as ‘leftist militants’ to enter Chile and his economic program which was not aimed at reform but at direct redistribution and destruction of the market place indicate his goal was to create a large enough revolutionary mass base to seize power permanently and create a ‘peoples republic’ in Chile. His model seemed to be slower moving version of the Czech Coup of 1948. Read Korbel’s ‘The Communist Subversion of Czechoslovakia’ and then read James Whelan’s “Allende: Death of a marxist Dream” (admittedly a hard book to find) and see the similarities. The Allende program was planned and coordinated by the Soviet Union and Cuba , of that I am sure and had Allende not been overthrown there would have been a full fledged soviet style people's republic on the mainland of South America. Pinochet is one of the real heroes of the ‘war for the world’ against the communists. He will never be given the credit he merits because the liberals love to carry the commies water for them and are in love still with the revolutionary romantic myth.
