Poor Americans. They gotta have news when they want it and not one second before. And they want news sites to not report the news.
Imagine 9/11 on tape delay.
I want it LIVE even if it on the other side of the world. I remember the 1996 tape delayed Atlanta Olympics. The excuse was that terrorists might try to do something spectacular on LIVE tv. Well, they did that on 9/11. The media covered it.
If you don’t wanna know that US women gymnasts win GOLD today, then don’t read news on a news discussion forum. :-)
Michael Phelps breaks record for most Olympic medals with gold in 4x200-meter freestyle relay
London Olympics: U.S. women win gold medal in gymnastics
hehe
U.S. women win soccer group by beating North Korea, 1-0
Have to wait forever out here on West Coast to watch the good stuff & since on computer most of day, it’s almost impossible not to see the live results. Way to go NBC..
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve been avoiding many sites. though I stopped going to Drudge when he endorsed Romney back in the day.
Go Team U.S.A.!!!
There are seriously bigger fish to fry.
I'd say, Oh, thank you very much except that I don't much care for soccer so no big deal.
“That’s my rant...and my vanity post for the year.”
We’re supposed to do one a year?
And you are the type that opens presents well before Christmas morning, probably don't even bother to wrap them, tells the person you are giving a gift to what got them as they open the present.
It doesn’t take away one thing for me to know ahead of time. I still enjoy watching them compete. Their skills and determination are still amazing even when you know the outcome. Besides, I don’t always get to view every sport I want to watch and it is nice to know the standings.
LOL
Nope. I admit that sometimes at the end of a long wrapping session, I start putting presents in stockings so I don’t have to wrap them. I do not purchase gifts until a few days before Christmas because we have 10 children.
If you don’t want to look at your present (i.e. an Olympian achieving his/her dream), then don’t watch tv, listen to the radio, or log on to the internet during the Olympics except during NBCs designated present unwrapping time.
If you don’t want spoilers for any major sporting event avoid FR as well.
I remember as a child about fifty years ago when the World Series was played, the games were all played in the afternoon. Kids would sneak transistor radios into school, and even some of the teachers were in on the fun. I guarantee you, if tv had taped delay at that time, nobody would have wanted to wait five hours to find out who won. Ditto for me. Taped delays especially don't make sense on weekends.
So I've noticed LOL
I like knowing the results so I know whether or not to waste my time watching it.
