I thought everyone had enough sense to stand at the *leeward* rail.

Yeah, I’m no sailor. However, I believe that my understanding of wind direction and speed would lead me to the best place to relieve myself. ;-)

Every CV I was on (pre-wussification of the military) had a weather deck urinal bolted to the starboard side of the island, adjacent to the bomb farm and just outside of Flight Deck Control. Used at sea during flight ops because the ship's crew and air wing personnel literally did not have enough time between launches & recoveries to strike below for a p!$$. So what now, is there a port-a-potty on the flight deck to accommodate the hothouse flowers and Socialist bureaucrats running the Navy?

Male sailors will be forced to sit when urinating for sanitary reasons.

There was a piece on the Reagan awhile ago. It uses vacuum flush instead of water and it is a disaster.
There are two vacuum pumps (port and starboard) and they were nonfunctional more than not. The crewmembers were suffering from UTIs and kidney problems because they had to hold it too long due to down equipment.
On a single gender ship (in the good old days) you cold hang it over the side or ...go to the poop deck.

The change heralded by the Gerald R. Ford class of carriers Well, that pretty much explains it, the carrier named for one of this country's BIGGEST DISGRACES, wuss, p*ssy, RINO, bottom-feeding, POS, posing as a "Republican," so it stands to reason that all who serve aboard should be expected to "Squat to pee!"
This girly-guy, "cross the aisle" and bow to the wishes of the Rat Party in the name of "Bi-partisanship," abrogated his sworn obligation to uphold the Constitution and ignored our "Committment" as outlined in the Paris Peace Accords to intervene on the side of our allies (S. Vietnam) should the North make an effort to take over or conquer the South.
THIS Asshat, stood by and allowed this to happen which consigned HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of S. Vietnam (WHO WERE NAIVE ENOUGH TO "TRUST" US) to re-education camps, torture, executions and deaths as they attempted to escape their new COMMUNIST masters.
To this day, I have no idea what happened to the dozens and dozens of personal "Friends" and others (Vietnamese Army Personnel I worked with) I had developed during my 18-months tour of duty.
That was when I left the Republican Party and have since, been an "Independent, Conservative."
