Its an Indiana story but connected to Michigan. One of these guys lives less than a mile from me.

Had a similar militia in Alaska in the news, except they were convicted.

First off the Feds WILL go after a private militia.

Instead the individuals states, especially red states opting out of Obamacare should offer to “cover” these groups providing they pass muster of key requirements.

Now we have the beginning of a Continental Militia, cells of smaller militia groups all sworn to defend the state and the Constitution.

What is an “admitted militiaman”?

Isn’t every able bodied male between the ages of 15 and 60 a member of the militia?

The estimated numbers of Militia in Michigan are around 20,000. Pro militia sentiment is considerably larger.

Yep. But for some reason criminal penalties are not associated with violations of federal law, when applied to congress critters. They should be.

Dearborn is a couple square miles of a fairly large state and the total muslim population of the state is only around 1%. I only live some 70 miles away and haven’t seen a muslim in years.

I've always read of the militia movement or ‘larger’ numbers of militia men in Michigan in the past. Has it always been like that in Michigan or has this been a recent movement, say since the 60’s onward?

I remember when this story first broke that it sounded like a bunch of leftist propaganda. Part of an effort to deflect attention away from Muslim and left-wing terrorists and pretend that it was right-wing militias that were the real danger.

It was obvious that they had done nothing wrong. But it’s good to know that there is an honest judge out there, who refused to go along with the lies.

I don’t think its a recent thing. I think it actually goes back to the days when Michigan was a territory. My great grandmother used to speak of the state militia.
