Jim Wells is the county that gave LBJ his primary win in 1948 with ballot box 13. Amazingly, the voters in 1948 voted in alphabetical order.

Supposedly 18 of the 325 people in the United States over the age of 110, voted in the Brooks county Democrat primary on May 29. What’s their secret to longevity? I just read articles this week saying that Texas was dead last in health care delivery.

Well, I'm sure things were better organized in 1948. They didn't call him "Landslide Lyndon" for nothing.

Seriously, there should be no mail in ballots. Vote in person only with government issue photo ID. Photograph every voter.

The dead are allowed to walk twice a year provided they where/are registered DEMOCRATS.

Once for the primary and once for the general.

The article didn’t say which party they voted for. I’ll lay odds on Dem, tho. Any takers?

I'm voting by absentee ballot for the Texas Republican primary runoffs, because I will be out of the United States on election day (July 31) and during in person early voting.

Brooks county is rather small. I don't think they even have an organized Republican party. A recently deceased friend of mine who voted for every Republican presidential candidate since Dewey in 1948, told me we ought to organize one. Each county gets guaranteed a minimum of 3 delegates to the state convention regardless of population. It would be 3 votes in our pocket.

The lately departed loved ones from the cemetery are always registered Democrats.

The birth dates of 01/01/01 or 01/01/00 leads me to belive this is a data entry problem, not voter fraud.

Yeah. Any talk of voter fraud is just plain silly.

Shades of the Duke of Duval County - George Paar - in the 1948 Senatorial election when Landslide Lyndon defeated Coke Stevenson, thanks to stuffed ballot boxes. If you have the opportunity, read the expose in “A Texan Looks at Lyndon,” written by the late J. Evetts Haley, history professor at (then) West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.

According to a Democrat I know, everyone who has re-registered after the 1996 election cycle and the implementation of motor voter, has had to supply a birth date. The date of 01/01/1901 is a place holder for birth dates that have not been updated. Actually that is problematic. About 1 in 6 registrations still are not associated with a birth date. As voters move their birthdates are added to the voter roll database.

Re post 13: Thanks for the info. This refers to a primary. Dem-on-Dem crime, so to speak. Of course, the same techniques would be used in the full election against a non-Dem candidate, too. As expected.

I’m really proud of Jim Wells County. The capital of corruption led by the likes of LBJ and George Parr.

Back then, it was the white guys...now it’s the brown guys.

I was born and raised in this county and have 65 years experience in watching the graft, nepotism, cronyism, and downright criminal acts being foisted on the law abiding, tax paying and hard working citizens in this county. There is no out for the culture of Mexico is firmly established here and will only get worse as the white population dies out or moves away.

Crime, drugs and welfare and tax cheats are the major income producers in the county. Only “suckers” pay sales taxes or income taxes. It’s a huge underground economy...and everyone is perfectly satisfied with it.

Nothing to see here....move along.

Looks more like SS fraud, since many of them live outside the US. It is insane to expect SS checks abroad are going only to the living.
