Okay, everybody calm down a second. Yes this training video does exist, but it was made for DHS office staff. It isn't intended for law enforcement officers and isn't meant to keep federal agent from dealing with an active shooter threat.. My office had to watch the same thing and laughed our way through it.

They used to at least let them use rubber bullets - this is insanity -

same kind of insanity of his ROE for our soldiers - that has resulted in a hughe incrase in deaths - as our soldiers can’t hanve their weapons loaded on base _IN AFGHANISTAN - they can’t fir the first shot in battle - etc etc

DHS leadership consistently gets rated as one of the worst places to work in the public sector. Their reaction to everything is a new Virtual Learning Center lecture. Even when it doesn't apply to all staff, they make it mandatory for everybody.

All personnel in DHS were required to watch that workplace violence/active shooter lecture even though it wasn't geared towards law enforcement. Nothing in that lecture would preempt an agent from engaging a threat, as he/she should. It is no different from me having to watch a stupid video on foreign travel which doesn't cover my circumstances in that situation, either. These videos are made for office staff that aren't carrying guns and don't have the tools to deal with a threat within reach at their desk.

The flip side of the story is the BP union consistently complains about this stuff, but not important stuff. In my sector they fought requiring agents to use encrypted radios because they were concerned an agent my not be able to remember to download the keys every month. Instead they would prefer to endanger that agent by making all their comms in the clear. I haven't seen the union make a big stink about the Tucson sector policy that had members of Brian Terry's BORTAC unit using non-lethal rounds. I have seen the union complaining about switching overtime payment programs despite every agent getting a pay-grade increase in the middle the federal government fiscal implosion. The BP union is effective at getting what they want, they just don't seem to fight the important fights.

This is outrageous, throwing things could put an eye out
and cause a law suit. We all know that people are not criminals until they go through
due process so if we just
show them we care they'll eventually turn themselves in and do the right thing or we'll
send a stern letter to their Mommys for bullying our meek law enforcement.

Watched Major Garret interview the author of Fast and Furious: Barack Obama's Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-Up, Katie Pavlich last Sunday. She said Brian Terry's patrol was armed with only beanbag guns when confronted with armed drug smugglers at the time he was killed.
