Revenge. Bad policy my FRiends.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave itto the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. To the contrary, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:19-21
I concur. My read is that they realize how tough the election is going to be so they need a lot more cash to exact fraud and buy votes more directly. It’s still a good sign because it is an acknowledgement that O is tanking.
They’re not splitting. They just realized that they were taken for granted, and want to play “hard to get” again, so they benefit more. They don’t want to be the girlfriend who puts out for free; they want to be the whore who gets paid for it.
I wonder if they are hurting for cash after the Wisconsin recall election??
Even if the unions are doing this as a head fake, the simple fact that it is out there in the public should help to undermine O and the unions.
I heard the AFL CIO spox gal on MSNBC this morning. They were talking about the SuperPACS and how the unions are for the little guy. She said they are mobilizing for Obama.
Don’t know what this means in terms of financing.
On a lighter note, Bush was only vilified once.
Makes sense on several levels.
1) They believe that Obama screwed them by failing to deliver on Card Check and by tepid support in Wisconsin. If they don’t deliver some clear punishment now double-dealing Democrats will just go on screwing them.
2) Things are going to start getting very bad for the union leadership in the wake of Wisconsin. Their rank-and-file is going to be under constant pressure of layoffs and/or givebacks. Better to point the finger of blame at the Mormon Republican Millionaire in the White House when that all starts hitting the fan.
3) The money that used to go to Democrats will frankly be needed to cover overhead expenses (i.e. perks for the union bosses) as dues receipts plummet after Wisconsin.
“Theyre not splitting. They just realized that they were taken for granted, and want to play hard to get again, so they benefit more. They dont want to be the girlfriend who puts out for free; they want to be the whore who gets paid for it.”
POST OF THE DAY
we have a winner
I know... using your comments(and others) as an aid is what I do... d;-)~`.`.`
Here’s another take. How much of this decision was prompted by the pull-out of mandatory contributors in Wisconsin?
The AFL-CIO might be under some internal pressure to appease the more moderate members and to keep them in the fold. They might see a possible domino effect happening after having their heads handed to them in WI. A 60% drop in membership has to get their attention.
