Oh, so Constitutional Conservatives are now the "lunatic fringe of the world" because we refuse to jump into bed with a double-talking pro-homo, mandate-loving, gun-grabbing, tax-hiking abortionist?
Just out of curiosity, have you checked out Romney’s record on the Second Amendment?
My point is simple: the backbone of the Tea Party posts on this site. If principled conservatives stayed true to those principles in sufficient numbers, the third party in peril wouldn’t be the CP. It would be the GOP, a fate it would richly deserve for nominating such a pathetically weak candidate at such an important time in our history.
We’re facing the worst President in the history of our Republic. And we’re supposed to stand behind MITT ROMNEY?
“Virgil who??? Oh, the individual with absolutely zero name recognition who will garner less votes than R-U-N Paul??? That Virgil Goode? Good luck with that. Let me know how your vote works out for you.”
You clearly don’t understand what’s going on. No one on this forum thinks VG has a legitimate chance but it’s not about that! It’s about refusing to choose between leftists this election!
“How about you just get your ballot and throw it in the river. That does the country as much good as your wasted vote for Virgil.”
Why don’t you vote for Obama? That does the country as much good as voting for Romney.
“Apparently some here on FR seem perfectly happy with the idea of Obozo for another four years.”
Aren’t you getting tired of your own cliches?
“I have to laugh and mock these idiots who claim they cant vote for mitt Romney but ignore the fact that their actions help Obama in the name of so called principal.
LMFAO. Morons.”
Get off your high horse! If you think those of us who are sticking to conservative principals are delusional YOU SHOULD TAKE A GOOD LOOK IN THE MIRROR. Your hopes of reversing the leftward course of this nation through moderate Republicans is just as ridiculous!
Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.
“I would vote for Charles Manson over Obama. Do you not grasp that?”
LOL, ok so WE are the crazy ones for voting for a conservative candidate. YOU, on the other hand, would have NO PROBLEM voting for a murderer with a swastika on his forehead.
I’m liking my decision to vote for Goode more and more...
I understand your point, but personally, I am past this point of ideological purity. There is no perfect candidate, anywhere, at anytime.
To me, it's about removing the jug-eared Kenyan from office along with his corrupt Administration, for the good of our country. That is Job One.
After Nov. 6th, we need to kick the useless GOP to the curb and let them go the way of the Whigs, and seriously strart a real, conservative third party akin to the Tea Party. And we will be ready for 2014 and 2016.
For now, we have to work within the structure that exists, in order to oust Zippy.
No one is going to think less of you ideologically, but quite frankly, I tire of the holier than thou attitude of those who would rather throw their vote away than use it to oust a Communist traitor.
But you have the right, and I respect that right.
It’s not that they “readily abandon everything they say they believe in and hold dear to”, it’s that they’re making the best of the terrible hand they’re given. Who else to endorse? someone with zero chance of winning? 90% of voters choose by party line, not who’s running ... so those 1% of voters who would rather “vote our conscience” will have no effect beyond bettering the odds of the one viable candidate we dislike more.
Your viable choice is Mitt or Barack. If you opt for “neither”, you’re failing to help the one of those two you dislike less. If you hold your nose and vote the one you dislike less, you’re not “abandoning everything you say you believe and hold dear” because you’re doing what you can (however little that may be) to ward off the candidate even more opposed to your principles.
Romney’s no prize, I never supported him, but the silliness in equating the two (Bambi=Romney) is beyond mind boggling.
BUMP to your post.
“LOL
So let me get this straight according to TJE logic of the ABMR crowd.
God will love. You for voting your principals that result in an Obama second term
God will condem you for engaging in activities intended to get Obama out of office.
LMFAO!!!!”
God chooses our leaders, not the American people. That’s Biblical truth, my FRiend. Whatever you choose is just fine with Him because God knows your heart! I doubt He’ll judge either of us for our intentions.
Even Barack Obama is an instrument of God’s will. If we were to act like grown-ups (and I’m guilty of this too) we’d be praying for both Mitt Romney AND Barack Obama... that they make the right decisions for America.
“After Nov. 6th, we need to kick the useless GOP to the curb and let them go the way of the Whigs, and seriously strart a real, conservative third party akin to the Tea Party. And we will be ready for 2014 and 2016”
Sounds good to me, but what if you aren’t ready for 2014 or 2016? You gonna PUNT again and vote RINO?
You want to take a stand later. I want to take a stand now. How are we all that different?
Thank you for a reasoned answer. Have you read the thread? It appears
most don’t agree with your reasoned response.
Huh? Do you even know what Romney’s record its?
We’ll have to agree to disagree because I do NOT think Mitt has what it takes to beat Obama.
You sound more reasonable that most of the ABO crowd.
Here is some silliness:
Which man is pro-abortion
Which man is pro-homosexual agenda
Which man is pro-gun grabs
Which man is pro-man made global warming
Which man is pro-government mandates
Which man is pro-government health care
Which man is pro-bigger government
Which man is pro-amnesty
Which man is pro-welfare
Which man is pro-liberalism
Which man is ant-conservative and conservatism
Which man is anti-Reagan
Which man is different than the other
Really, the only difference is it is realistically too late to take a stand now. The GOP is the only vehicle we have to remove Obama. My vote now will accomplish that, whereas your vote, principled as it is, will not.
I don;t like the hand we have been dealt either, but with five months left to save the nation, the time for arguing is over. No candidate is perfect, ever, and Jesus Christ is not on the ballot.
Romney is bad, but he is not as bad as Obama, and with a Republican House and Senate we have a chance to steer things in 2013 and 2014.
If you don't think so, then not only will you not be participating in getting rid of Obama in 2012, but you are without hope that you can change things in the next two years.
It's the best spin I can put on a bad situation, and I am going with it.
Keep hating all you want, it's not going to change a thing. And neither is your name calling, whining and complaining - so knock yourself out. Empty barrels make the most noise, anyway.
