Does anyone imagine that firemen enjoy going into burning homes and buildings to rescue people trapped by the flames? As a former volunteer fireman, yes, they do think of it as fun and exciting. The satisfaction of helping your fellow man at a time of need is one of best feelings in the world. Besides, it beats harvesting catfish eggs. (Yes, I did!)
Dr Sowell has a gift for distilling the complex into easily digested tidbits.
