Regarding “CC”, so do I and my wife, and it has nothing to do with this issue.
I agree with you that giving up our rights is not the answer but parading through town (at his age no less) with a rifle slung over his shoulder is only asking for someone to report you. This whole damn country has gone over the edge and keeping our “rights” is always going to be under attack without asking for trouble.
Parading through town with a rifle on your back is proudly proclaiming that you have rights, and acclimating the rest of the population to the fact.
There are some that will be made uncomfortable, but there will be more that will be emboldened to exercise their rights as well.
I see no problem with people routinely carrying rifles through town. We have done it as a society before, and the Swiss and Israelis do it regularly now, without any detrimental effect. The whole purpose of the arrest is to delegitimize the exercise of the Constitutional right to bear arms. This is the major strategy of the anti-freedom types.
A major part of our strategy should be to relegitimize the exercise of that right. The trend, the Constitution, and the culture are in our favor. The MSM and the "progressive" statists of all types are against us. We are winning.
