Yes your words are silly.
RE: what did he say about an American renouncing his American citizenship?
Nothing, a long time back he told me he renounced his old citizenship to come to America.
If the act of renouncing one’s citizenship LEGALLY and PEACEFULLY makes one scam then my grandpa was scum. And he is not.
And so was George Washington BTW ( for fighting his old country ). THAT IS THE IMPLICATION OF YOUR ARGUMENT.
RE: George Washington never renounced his American citizenship.
Yes, but he renounced his English citizenship. In fact, he FOUGHT his old country. Saverin did not.
If the act of renouncing a citizenship makes one scum, then your argument has to make Washington a scum.
You might want to escape the implication, but you can’t ( unless of course, you withdraw your argument ).
I admit I thought you were lying when you said you had spoken to him about this discussion of an American renouncing his American citizenship, I was right, you were.
Like I said you should speak to your dad, or grand dad in your case, or better yet, visit your local American Legion hall, and let them fill you in on what kind of scum renounces his American citizenship.
So said King George III of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. :)
You don’t know what he said, but you can express your dislike of America and Americanism and patriotism if you wish, join those that renounce us.
RE: I was right, you were.
Nope, You are wrong, I was not. He renounced his PREVIOUS citizenship after immigrating to America and became American, is that morally wrong? Apparently in your eyes, anyone who renounces his previous citizenship is.
As I said before, you are demonizing millions of Americans by doing that.
RE: Like I said you should speak to your dad, or grand dad in your case
I did, a long time ago, and I told you what he told me.
And again, there is no moral evil in renouncing one’s citizenship, as long as he follows the law and does it peacefully as Saverin and thousands of others did. You are inventing morality for yourself, that’s all. If all we have is your personal moralizing, I guess there’s nothing to worry about.
RE: but you can express your dislike of America and Americanism and patriotism if you wish
Again, one does not have to dislike America or Americans for that matter by renouncing one’s citizenship. One can do it for many reasons (denying an increasingly odious government more money to waste and increase America’s debt is one of them ).
A Singaporean can be an American supporter, how is that disliking America? Don’t confuse disliking a government’s confiscatory policies with disliking EVERYTHING America stands for.
And oh yeah, you are still avoiding my question -— DO YOU SUPPORT SCHUMER’s EX-PATRIOT ACT?
