A joke? ... Only in that he left off the guillotines for the four estate truned fifth column. Get it?
The stupid article you posted is a slap in the face of all real Americans. Your article tells us that the Republican party can't be changed, all is lost and run away.
Well let me tell you something mister. The last thing you tell a real American is that it can't be done and just give up. "Nuts" to you and your like minded friends.
Rmoney bump
Nope. I’d rather vote, but I’m ready if they want to go the other way.
Romneycare works for Mitt because Mitt is a social corporatist...a form of socialist government that rules a nation using an elite, especially a corporate elite, to run things in the background while allowing everyone to pretend it is a “free market”. The great great grandparents of these ideas were Friedrich Nietzche and Benito Mussolini.
Socialism is socialism, though, no matter how invisible it might try to make itself.
National Romneycare will only serve to make the cronies more powerful.
I like the following from the article so much:
“The ObamaCare repeal will go down like this: House Republicans will pass a repeal bill. Senate Democrats will block it. There will be lots of tense moments and sparring through the media as the White House and House straw men and -women wage a wink-and-a-nudge battle with the Democrats. Romney (D-Mass.) will concede defeat and blame the Democrats, who will claim victory. The Republicans will save face with their base by fighting the good fight, as will the Democrats.
Next, Romney (D-Mass.) will take charge of fixing it. Democrats will concede that it needs improvement. Campaign donors will draft revisions that will benefit the donors, and both parties will agree to those amendments. There will be some token resistance on certain provisions to keep America fleeced into thinking that we have a functioning Two-Party system.”
So, a pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-big government liberal as your nominee is evidence to you that the GOP is working. It ain’t workin’ on nuthin but your sanity, Metal. You have to force yourself to support that crap, and it eats at you. Here’s the proof: You won’t say to me - “Romney is a solid conservative.”
Quit kidding yourself, Metal, the GOP is owned lock, stock, and barrel by the liberal rockefeller wing of the party.
If we don’t start a new conservative party, your grandkids will be bowing to socialists.
It’s that simple.
There are only two rational choices: Romney or Obama. I’ll never vote for Obama.
Thank you MCSP2008.
Pray for us.
Yep, yep and yep.
I believe a third is: a new conservative party, home for conservatives.
Yes, I do know you are better than that. That’s why I love and pray for you CONSTANTLY.
See my post #41 on this thread.
I know we are coming at this a little differently MHG...but it is not because I am LDS.
I have no great love lost for Romney’s record in Mass...but I have looked into it in some detail. There are about 300 vetoes he made while in office and they say something about him if anyone would just research them all and see. Maybe he did not stand strong enough, and certainly not on all of the right issues...but he did stand up a lot on a lot of good issues...the huge majority DNC legislature over-road him just about every time.
Also I have relatives, strong conservatives whom I trust, who lived there during his admin and they say that he was not and is not the abject evil he’s made out to be. Particularly the stalk about his Judge appointments. There is a committee that is appointed, not voted in, that picks a group of individuals from whom the Governor must choose his appointees. Then that choice has to clear the vast majority owned legislature. Romney had no chance to get anyone remotely resembling a conservative Judge in place there.
Talk to long time FReeper betty boop. She lived there while he was govenor too and has a lot to say about him from 1st hand experience, about his economics, his gun law attitudes etc. and though he was certainly not what you and I would relish in a candidate, he was nothing remotely close to Obama.
So, I have come to the conlcusion after all of that talk, and research, that a vote for him, and particularly if we work hard to expand control of the house and win control of the senate with a whole bunch of new Tea Party candidates, that we can ensure that Romney keeps the commitments he is making now to the issues he has campaigned on and are listed on his site.
If he comes even close to that, the difference between him and Obama will be night and day and we just may be able to start turning this ship of state around.
I join you in voting for Romney for those reasons...as much as I had rather it been someone else (for me Palin, Cain, Santorum and then Newt)...and pray to God in Heaven in Jesus’ name that He will show mercy on us and allow us to realize these goals for our kid’s and grandkid’s sake.
God’s speed.
Why I will Support Romney if he becomes the GOP nominee

I think I get it. It appears that you are trying to imply I am a traitor.
As you know, Romney was NEVER my guy, but I don't see how principles are being served by standing still or attacking the only people who can stop President Kool Kat.
A difference of opinion shouldn't cause so much anger between allies and friends.
Have you seriously reviewed Mitt's judicial appointments in MASS? Mitt's actual record indicates that he will nominate very Liberal judges.
With Mitt or Obama our Republic will incessantly move towards more rabid Socialism.
I can never vote for someone who's record has shown a contempt for Individual Rights and the belief in limited government (with the GOP-e pick and Obama we have a rabid Statist with an R or D to pick from)
I am at peace knowing I will do a write-in and vote Conservative down the ticket.
The GOP-e, Rove, Mitt et all laugh at Conservatives behind their backs. They have contempt for Conservative beliefs.
Mitt's victory will only be a victory for Statists.
Ugh. there = their!!!
See Ronald Reagan on government solutions foisted on the people by a group of elites, ie, Romney and the GOP-e. See also freedom and liberty vs socialism and totalitarianism and how Reagan warned us that the socialists would introduce socialism into America via compulsory health insurance, ie, RomneyCare.
Jim: I agree with all of that. But, answer me this: when the choice comes down to Romney vs. Obama, who will you vote for? If neither, isn't that the same as a vote for obama? That I can't do. Maybe the VP choice will make a difference? I know he'll never ask Palin, but if he did... in my opinion, that would be a game changer. Unfortunately, he's a douche and I fear we're all screwed.
