“What is interesting is that a lot of the people who voted Obama in 2008 are turning against him.”
The fact that he is going to have to fight so hard to keep his base is encouraging; I think it is safe to say he has lost Hillary’s “hardworking white people” already.

I am talking about the union workers in my area.
They hate him. They view him as betraying their interests for race pandering and communism (ironic). You don't see the Union pro Obama signs in this area like you did four years ago.
I am actually very surprised. The steward at my plant asked me about Santorum, and then Rommney.

Romney certainly will not forward the conservative agenda that the GOP-E and rinos disparage. L I figure Romney will rubber stamp the communist agenda of Obama’s handlers.

Another 4yrs and there wont be an America we recognize, anymore. I hardly recognize parts of it, now. I was asked by a Gen X'er what the difference was between himself and me as a tail of the Boomer.
After some thought I said to him, I have know something that resembles real freedom, nothing like what we have now, which is only illusory. In 1980, before MADD there was a modicum of real freedom. Now the USA has become a police state.

I remember talkshow host Michael Savage said, "in 1970 (or 1980 as you put it) your father made 1/3rd as much as you do but he had more freedom." I was born in 1966, not quite an X'er but not quite a Baby Boomer, I like to call myself a "Joneser" for "Generation Jones" that encompasses late Boomers and early X'ers, a sub-niche if you will. Like you, I remember that time.

I was thinking about making an Obama bumper sticker for my car, with the slogan “Stay The Course”.

I was thinking about making an Obama bumper sticker for my car I was thinking about making one that said:

I am 1962 and so the difference between us is not much now.
The difference between the X’er and myself is that the world he has inhabited since he came of age was already infested by MADD, and the various other groups that were spawned of their success.
The world of freedom has condensed considerably in the last 30 years, and we can rest assured that the freedom(s) enjoyed by our father(s) had been similarly reduced by FDR and his like minded communists, and thr corresponding reduction in the freedom of our fathers from their fathers.
There has bee a consistent slide in the available liberty to each succeeding generation. such that there is so little freedom left. The world my sons will inhabit is frighteningly free of liberty. That is what the future portends when the like of Baraq Obunghole speaks of freedom, freedom from liberty.

Yeah, I think to be a member of the niche, "Generation Jones" (you'd fit in too) is that you remember black and white TV, watching TV over the air, seeing the landings on the Moon as a child, yet, also was the first to see having a personal computer as somewhat normal or at least experienced the first home computers (Apple, Atari Commodore PETs/VIC-20/C-64, TI-99/4A's, etc). Also experiencing the age of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher is a must too as well as coming to age in the late 1970's and 1980's.
Truthfully, the slide against freedom started when the Civil War ended but it really got legs with Teddy Roosevelt, went faster with Woodrow Wilson, took a hiatus in the 1920's and it started under FDR again and down the line to what we have now.
I do think that the two Roosevelts did have good intentions in mind and at least they were not America haters, but in so doing, we traded freedom for security and that is the true casualty. The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions. The big difference with Obunghole and Woodrow Wilson is they hate America by hating our system so much that they want to change everything we hold dear. and they will take our freedom away just so they can have their own way.
MADD Was a good idea at one time but it has lived out its usefulness and has become a monster that was created like a Frankenstein. Awareness of the problem of drunk driving is one thing but to tighten tings so much that one drop of beer puts you over the limit is another thing entirely as well as those sobriety checkpoints.
