Reid’s leadership in this case is also shining a light on the paucity of women and minorities within the Secret Service.
I suspect this is the point. They want to use this as an impetus for "diversifying" the Secret Service.

“I can't help but wonder if there'd been more women as part of that detail if this ever would have happened,” Collins said Sunday on the weekly news talk show. Being surrounded by female bodyguards worked for Moammar (sp?) Qaddaffy (sp?) for years. No reason it shouldn't work for President Camacho.

I am wondering if this the secret service agent that could not open the door on the presidents limo. The story I heard was that she could not open the door so they parked the car on an incline so the door would open almost on its own.
