Yes we did...I'd like to think some of those who came out to vote in my district were folks I had spoken to, even though the turnout was so low.
And I think it was more than just that which you listed which prevented Newt's coming back up...there was some serious arm-twisting going on as well..pay-backs etc. for endorsements etc. Not to mention Romney throwing his bottomless money machine around at every turn.
Conservatives have not manned their battle stations well. Newt COULD, if he chooses, put together a Third Party to be reckoned with, to meet the fearsome future coming ahead. It must be done, and done using a bit of genius. Newt is just the political master to get something going. The Washington GOP Establishment is not even the government that Newt knew, but become its own darkened force that must be dismantled.
God save us, and let’s get it on. Love to all, and thanks for the ping, as I’ve been traveling and out of the loop— stuck typing on the dang cell keyboard! (Which I can not see let alone type.) :D
Take him at his word. Newt says he will campaign, and he will talk to his donors. I’m sure that’s what he’ll do. If he thinks he has a chance in NC, and if he thinks he can find money— he may stay the course.
He left himself an opening- the necessity that the GOP platform is conservative. He’ll fight for that- if he gets the backing.
Day to day- he’s in for now.
With Soros endorsing Romney and news hitting about just how liberal MR is ..anything can happen at the convention. There was a low voter turn out and I hope that is a sign that voters are not convinced Romney is the right man.
Praying hard here my friend... multiple times a day.
