When you say "all estimates" I assume you just means the ones you cherry picked and agree with, that you've heard about inside whatever echo chamber you reside in, or the fantasy "estimates" you dream about?
Because the reality is there are almost no real estimates that show Willard failing to get the required number of delegates at this point. Romney will likely win every single remaining primary - most by commanding majorities. In fact, Mitt will probably win these upcoming states (on Tuesday) by such large margins that I would be surprised if Gingrich remains in the race after early next week.
Sorry, I like Newt too, but at this stage it is pretty obvious he can't compete. I'm sure he appreciates any donations to help pay down his campaign debt though. Too bad he decided to launch attacks on Fox News during his campaign. Once he is out I guess we will end up having to watch CNN in order to see him.
Texas is not going to be approved for winner take all. It was one of the reasons Santorum cited for dropping out. The RNC already made it clear they were not going to approve that.
I don’t know. Guess I could ask my friend the County Chairman.
I don’t understand one thing. When Santorum started to win several states, calls for Newt to withdraw always were rebuffed on the ground that if he did that, Romney would surely get to the magic number before Tampa. As it is now, Santorum suspended his campaign. Wouldn’t the same logic, Romney would get the nomination sooner than Tampa, apply?
The only situation where it doesn’t, IMO, is if Romney gets more Newt’s voters than Santorum’s when one of them withdraws.
Texas was always “winner-take-all”. The only reason they changed was because of pressure from the RNC.
And after Obozo and the reapportionment lawsuit mess delayed the primary we had a very good reason to change back.
But you are probably right, although I had not heard they refused. I am sure it does not fit their plans to force feed us Romney.
Makes little difference. Romney will not carry Texas. I suspect he will get a good shellacking.
I am still puzzled why Santorum pulled out. They must have hard selled him by promising a choice morsel if he quit. I know that is against the law, but it probably was presented in such a way that is gave them an out.
And the RNC had best consider the long term consequences of their actions for the past 3+ years. Including the scams they have perped in this election cycle.
If they want to destroy the GOP they are doing a pretty good job.
The Dems got a lesson in why not to defy the public in the 2010 election. There were a number of RINOs who dissappeared then too.
They keep telling themselves that the “Tea Party’ is over, but they do so at their peril.
Of my multiple personalities, at least one is a jackass.;-)
