You have nothing for which to apologize. We all go through geriatric pets and understand your situation.

I hope that y'all are kind to me when it's time for my Rocket to go to the Rainbow Bridge and wait for me. He's quite a trooper though. It has been two years since he was diagnosed with chronic renal failure, and we have been expecting to lose him "any time now" for for about a year.

Here it is, April 2/3's over and we were worried that he wouldn't make it to summer. It looks as if he will be here a bit longer, and I hope that you get to keep yours for quite a while as well.

Have you tried glucosamine/chondroitin treats? We have them for the cats, and I'm positive that you can get them for dogs too. They work wonders for their arthritis.

Thanks, TOL. Yes we have been giving our three oldest glucosamine chondroitin for five years or so, because they are large dogs. Our oldest is 12, with the next in line 11. The oldest weighs 100 lbs, and second in line weighs 115 pounds. It has helped quite a bit, but their rears and back legs are clearly weakening.

I walked each of them up the driveway this morning, and it was slow going, but they both managed the distance, thank goodness. They also seemed to enjoy it very much.
