The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided
to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off .hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

Probe: Mitt missed chance to keep Tavares jailed - Could have nixed killers early exit
Friday, December 28, 2007 - Boston Herald
"Former Gov. Mitt Romneys administration failed to act on disciplinary recommendations
that would have kept ex-con killer Daniel Tavares locked up another year -
and behind bars at the time he was accused of killing a newlywed couple in Washington state."
"Despite Tavares long history of violence, the Romney-led Department of Correction
took no action on recommendations that he be stripped of good time because
of assaults on prison guards in 2003 and 2005, said sources familiar with a state probe into the case."
"Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans,
has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced,
instead tapping registered Democrats or independents -- including two gay lawyers who
have supported expanded same-sex rights, a Globe review of the nominations has found.
Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats
or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians
or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show.
In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters,
and 14 registered Democrats."

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge
Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the
constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate,
but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ."
Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one
of the leading anti-marriage attorneys. He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which,
in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision
on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."

"Romney announces he won't fill judicial vacancies before term ends
Despite his rhetoric about judicial activism, Romney announced that
he won't fill all the remaining vacancies during his term - but instead
leave them for his liberal Democrat successor!
Governor Mitt Romney pledged yesterday not to make a flurry of lame-duck
judicial appointments in the final days of his administration . . . David Yas,
editor of Lawyers Weekly, said Romney is "bucking tradition" by resisting the urge to
fill all remaining judgeships. "It is a tradition for governors to use that power to appoint judges
aggressively in the waning moments of their administration," Yas said.
He added that Romney has been criticized for failing to make judicial appointments.
"The legal community has consistently criticized him for not filling open seats quickly enough
and being a little too painstaking in the process and being dismissive of the input of the
Judicial Nominating Commission," Yas said.

No, no. No.
1.) Romney is congentially risk-adverse and will choose a safe running mate.
2.) There is no way, after spending tens of millions of his family’s dough that he will bow out graciously, especially because of #3.
3.) He is philosophically the unPalin, in case you haven’t noticed.
Which gets me to this- people will say Palin is "stupid". I'll ask "why"? They'll reply that it's because she says stupid stuff. I'll ask, "Like what?" They'll inevitably say, "Because she said she could see Russia from her house". I have to remind them that Palin NEVER said that- it was Tina Fey. I think the Left knows that everytime Governor Palin opens her mouth, she gains supporters so they purposely go after things on the periphery, like mocking her Down's Syndrome child, or her daughter, or anything other than policy differences, because they know that when she speaks, she'll eviscerate them.
His best choice would be to choose Paul Ryan, who would be his point-man for budget reform when Romney takes office. H

The most qualified, proven accomplishments, great platform, the perfect candidate to take on Obama. While Mitt is the worst - that's why he was chosen. He ain't going to beat him Barry. He is so weak, barry won't break a sweat defeating him. Mitt will no longer have media protector. And he has nothing to beat him with. NOTHING!
You next dream might be 'what could have been'.
Or mitt could drop out and let Ryan have it...
Mitt just might see the light and realize that the only way to make sure Obama is defeated is to first, choose Sarah as his running mate

You’ve got to quit getting drunk before you go to bed. It screws up your dream cycle big-time. (LOL; just kidding bro.) Listen, I love Sarah Palin to pieces. I was praying that she would be the GOP VP nominee in 2008 before 90% of America ever heard of her. But, she has been so demonized by the media, and the American Electorate, by and large, are dumb enough to believe all the lies, she would not help the Ticket. Now go back to bed and dream of Marco Rubio in the VP spot. And in your dream, the GOP carries Florida, cuts into Obama’s Hispanic vote big-time and the half-white trash currently occupying the White House has to move out. Sweet Dreams!!!
The RINOs hate Palin because she put corrupt Republicans in JAIL as Governor of Alaska. They can’t afford to let her NEAR the White House...
Thanks for giving the Obama Team more campaign fodder. When he gets reelected and, in four years, destroys this great Republic, we will have you, and people like you, who can’t see the big picture, to thank for it. Just trying to figure out how our grandkids will say “Thank you” to you in Mandarin Chinese.
His best choice would be to choose Paul Ryan, who would be his point-man for budget reform when Romney takes office.Certainly a good choice. Certainly one that would signal a serious intent on his main issue: the economy.
Romney could serve two years and a day and then resign.
Palin could then serve 10 years. 2+4+4
She’s not running. Let it go.
> Shes not running. Let it go.
Who are you? Obama’s campaign manager?
The VP is for show because he ain’t winning against Barry.
He is a very weak candidate, chosen because of that. He has NOTHING to debate Barry with. Barry won’t have to break a sweat debating mitt - when they start just showing his performance for a supposed ‘businessman’ as gov in MA - it’s over for him. He’s never been without media support - so all his cushions are pulled from him. He never had a real debate. In the debates he surrounded himself with his protectors and he spoke talking points fashion and the media moderators favored him so he was treated gently. His a POS candidate and when barry starts on him, he will go in stutter mode.
The reason they don’t want her because she would clean house on both sides. Jail for some? You know her rep in Alaska. Corruption doesn’t last long with Sarah around and DC is full of corruption.
DC does not want a conservative - well, one with balls. She is exactly what America needs and that’s why we will never get. It is really over for America. All the so called conservatives caved - just about anyone can be bought. 2010 was a bang up year and approximately 1.5 years we are worse than ever. Mostly now the spirit is lost and it’s not coming back. Politicians cannot be trusted - they will bend when told to bend.
Some of us forget victory at the Presidential level isn`t the objective. The point of nominating Romney is to make inroads into the squishy middle enough to hold onto the House and maybe make gains in the Senate.
As such, Romney is going to select an equally “moderate” and uninspiring running mate. FL`s George LeMieux and MN`s Tim Pawlenty come to mind.
