Since I started voting, it has been hard to vote for the GOP candidate because none of them have really been conservative. But Romney is easy to vote against. Every lie he tells just insults my intelligence.

Jim, please start a thread with your analysis of third party options and/or how to recover the GOP.

What you said!!! Romney is as an extreme left-wing liberal as any the Democrats have run and now the Republican Party is running Romney simply to stay in power. Well, screw them! They may lose this election to Obama but if they or the Democrats want my vote they had better run a decent candidate!

To those that say the Republic is doomed forever if Obama wins again, well, several things come to mind. First, if this nation is that weak then let’s get Obama in and get this crap over with while I am still young enough to do something about it! Second, don’t bitch to me about not voting for a liberal Republican candidate; bitch to the Republican Party for allowing an extreme left-wing liberal to represent their party as their candidate.

I will vote this election but it will be for issues and candidates in federal, State and local elections that represent America and not the extreme left-wing liberal agenda that Romney and Obama represent.

It is a sad day to think the party of Reagan might nominate someone that is the polar opposite of Reagan; somebody that Reagan might have punched in the face.

But no matter what happens we must turn out in November to vote IN as many conservatives and vote OUT as many rats as possible at all levels of government. If we don't have a conservative at the top of the ticket we must turn out anyway and vote straight conservative DOWN ticket!! Just think of it an off cycle election and pour on the TEA!! It'll be doubly important that we control both houses of congress and as many statehouses as possible.

That's (in my opinion) the most important part of your post. I won't bother to argue with those who will vote for the lesser of two evils - again - but I would argue with anyone who wanted to stay home completely on election day. If, God forbid, we are stuck with Obama for another four years, then we need the most conservative possible Congress to bring his communist agenda to a screeching halt. If, God forbid, we switch to Romney for four to eight years, then we need the most conservative possible Congress to keep his socialist agenda from getting any legislative traction. We all have to vote in November, even if we despise the pro-abortion, anti-gun leftist at the head of the GOP ticket almost as much as we despise the pro-abortion, anti-gun leftist at the head of the Dem ticket - so that conservatives will determine the Congress and the state legislatures.

“If we don’t have a conservative at the top of the ticket we must turn out anyway and vote straight conservative DOWN ticket!!”

What if we don’t have a choice of a “true” conservative down ticket?

I’m torn up about Romney probably getting the nomination. I voted for McCain last time cause I knew what we were getting with Obama. Didn’t do a damn bit of good. We have a long time before the election. Things change. I’ll follow your lead. However, If you change your mind then please let me know!

No pimping for Romney from me, no voting either.

In other news, this is really going to make conservatives look good when Obama and company go after Romney for this:

“Romney, Torture, and Teens
The former governor’s connections to abusive “tough love” camps”

I AM WITH YOU 1000%! IN FACT... LET THE ROMNEY-BOT PURGE BEGIN.

romney is evil... if he were a good Christian man, we could believe in his redemption... but he is not... he is a member of a cult and the more that I learn of his religion... the more that I understand what it is not... and it is NOT a Christian religion. He says that he has had a change of heart... but I hear no apology for the murders of the innocent that he has enabled. He owes all of us apologies for every single progressive thing that he has done and every single progressive action he took as governor... but do not hold your breath... he is a progressive and only lies today for power and money. I will not vote for him under any circumstance whatsoever. I will vote for every single Conservative down ballot... but romney will never see a vote from my hand.

Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign.
Everything changes. It's almost like an Etch a Sketch.
You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again.

The way I see it... he is either very very liberal and a liar or he has no principles at all.

Neither of these is endearing.

The GOP has to face the facts, they cannot win without conservative votes. They are not going to make up the difference by stealing liberal votes, they just won’t. Liberals will stick to the most liberal panderer, Obama, of course.

Why would moderates support a fraud like Romney who has a leftwing record but spouts lines that seem to be written by a Hollywood Hack for a Republican villain “I’m not concerned about the very poor” and “I like firing people”.

The fact is Moderates won’t trust the flip flopper, liberals will stick to Obama and conservatives have no good reason to support him.

It is like he was specially designed to give Obama a big win even during the worst administration in history.

On another thread I posted something similar along with an admonition to not give the enemies within more ammunition but was called a commie by some ignorant knuckle dragger.

Jim I make you look like a liberal and if we are going to throw our hands up for the office of President that is absolutely fine and understandable and certainly lets work to get conservatives in every other office possible but come on, do not give talking points to our enemies in the commie dumbocrap party and in the MSM because you know they will use it against us and the country.

This is a classic case of loose lips sink ships and the enemy is listening.

The best we could do is go into stealth mode when it comes to Mitt as we will not, more than likely have a conservative for the office of president. Silence is golden.

We, on the conservative side, always look at the black vote, scratch out heads, & wonder how it is that so many blacks continue to vote for dems when the policies of the democrat party hurt them so badly.
The dems chuckle and retort, “Where else are they gonna go?”

It seems that the republican establishment has taken the same attitude toward us conservatives - “Where else are they gonna go?”

Well, this conservative (I haven’t identified as a republican since Dole was our “choice”)intends to send them a message -LOUD AND CLEAR - that my vote is NOT to be taken as a given, because I ain’t givin’ it to a RINO.

The more of us who make that choice, the louder & clearer the message. I’m with you, Jim.

I'm not voting for Romney.

But I have friends and family who plan to. People whom I consider conservatives. One of them is the woman I've been married to for thirty years.

I plan to try and talk them out of it.

One thing I do not plan to do is call them "idiots" and tell them to f--- off.

Not riding in Romney’s handbasket.

My (very preliminary) choices at this point are down to four: Newt, Constitution Party, America’s Party, or write-in. Since realistically Newt probably won’t make it, I will probably be looking at the Constitution Party or America’s Party.

Oh, and that thing about Romney being a liar. He’s a lot worse when he’s telling the truth. Trust me on this.
