I think youll be amazed at how many obey, I predict in the 90% range. As I said some will refuse. Perhaps those in your family would. If they do you’ll never see them again or wind up visiting them in the brig. At any rate you best swap those rose colored glasses from some that help you see better.

Yeah...the fear was Clinton was going to do it. That was when militias started gaining steam.
But Clinton isnt Obama. Obama is more ego driven with a communist bent. If given a chance, I think he would try it. But I dont think the military would go along with it.And without the military and having to rely on local and federal police would mean Obamas quick arrest unless he runs for the high grass or invites the UN to “Secure” key installations and bases.
But if Obama tried anything like that, it would be a epic fail.

I might be prejudice but respect goes a long way, he also is a state trooper and as such, went through a very long and difficult selection process where some 50-70% were cut. He doesn’t have anything to prove.

I will tell you that he has had two knee surgeries due to chasing criminals over fences for which he received no workers compensation for the time he was off because he did not fill out the paperwork. And if he had filled out the paperwork he would have been looked down upon because he drew workers compensation. Their jobs are not easy as so many may think. They too have reports and paperwork that is required after they do their time on the road. He also is required to carry his weapon at all times, even when he is not on duty. The damage he is doing to his body in the line of work will show up as he ages.

He chose the profession and he will live with his choices. He nor I am complaining just sayin’. They all aren’t bad. I have no idea what he would do under martial law but I suspect he likes to feed his family. Those who have an alternative way of living will be the ones that will drop out. My son has an alternative but I still don’t know what he would do. But as his mother, I can see his life in peril in either situation.

They might not like it but they’ll do it. Anyone thinking otherwise will have a rude and perhaps terminal eye opening.

I have been saying this since all the flack during the Clinton dynasty but people keep believing that it could never happen here.

The fallacy that the people would or could resist our modern military with the weapons they are allowed to have is just silly.

Of course if they had to operate under the same ROE as they do in Afghanistan we might have a chance.

This is the FIRST time in my lifetime I’ve heard this concern so frequently, so seriously.

It was being said about Clinton pretty frequently, but there were fewer outlets for it at the time. It certainly didn't come up on ABCNNBCBS. We thought that "outing" the plot would stop it, and *maybe* it did!

Some of the far left were saying it about GWB as well.

We have never really had a dictator in the US(unless you consider FDR a dictator), and it is difficult to predict how citizens or the military would react.

Ambushes, IEDs, snipers, oh my!
Ambushes, IEDs, snipers, oh my!
Ambushes, IEDs, snipers, oh my!...

I don't think it's silly. Especially when you consider that, of the 3 million active duty and reserve personnel in the military, less than 500K are infantry. If only ten percent of our population were to resist that would be 31 million people.

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising would prove that point wrong.

There are more of us than them If we take out 1 each we win.

What about all the people who will NOT rise up but expect others to do it for them? The Warsaw Ghetto was crammed full of people contrary to most of our cities and certainly not like the urban areas.

Those who think they are prepared might be surprised how unprepared they are. Here are a couple of real-life experiences as told by those who took part.

I don't know about the bigger argument, but the Warsaw Ghetto fighters didn't win, did they?

Warsaw getto is hardly applicable. The weapons available to the military that we never even seen could well be employed, because the UN would rejoice. The commies know exactly what they are doing. The large cities would fall on their own within a week, the more resourceful ones would abandon their homes and move into the anarchic suburbs. There may be pockets of patriots that would hold out like those Japanese that were hiding on the islands, but they would likely never become more than a nusiance.

Mind you that is all predicated on the Military following orders, my sense is that they will.

Personally I think Bible Prophecy paints a different picture for those that walk in the light.

The Warsaw Ghetto fighters had nothing compared to the arsenal that ordinary Americans have. And yet, they still held the Nazis off.

The President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, has generated so much fear that the most common theme of posted comments and private communications is that he will refuse to relinquish power if defeated in November or that, under some pretext, he will declare a state of martial law.

This is an extremely common theme here and elsewhere. When Clinton was in office, many thought he wouldn't leave power voluntarily. When Bush was in office, the leftists said the same about him. Now it's Obama's turn.

The fact is, the real Powers That Be will not let anything get in front of the American people to shatter the illusion of elections It would ultimately be their undoing if they were to do so, so we are allowed to go vote in elections rigged by both major parties to make sure a candidate acceptable to the PTB wins. You won't have a real choice, because they don't want you to have one.

“I think the military would follow his orders w/o question. Yes, there would be some refusal but that would be the exception and quashed quickly. History bears this out.”

No it doesn’t. Qaddafi found out very quickly what happens when you order your army to kill their family and friends.

In fact, Qaddafi ordered his mercenray goons to execute nine members of the military who refused to follow his orders. The mercenaries ended up hanging from lampposts.

I did not say all ills were imagined.
I do see much rhetoric around many that are.

And yet, they still held the Nazis off.

They were not a strategic problem, resources were just not allocated.

When an objective is declared and the military are unleashed nothing stands. You have watched to many episodes of Terminator.

Remember Hamburg, literally destroyed, because the destruction was ordered, with more deaths than Hiroshima.

If only ten percent of our population were to resist that would be 31 million people.

About a third the number of people that Stalin killed and maybe one seventh the number Mao dispatched.

I went through infantry training in 1954 how valuable will I be? You have done waited too long for me to help.

Good point. I guess it all comes down to willpower. Americans have been exceptional in every aspect of human endeavor. Hopefully we are just as exceptional in resisting tyranny.
