Axelrod has used the Limbaugh affair to attack Mitt Romney, slamming him for having “essentially refused to comment on what was a really egregious set of comments by Limbaugh” and saying “he’s afraid to challenge a guy who’s the de-facto head of his party.”

Limbaugh is the de facto head of the GOP. More evidence that the Left does not want him thought of as an "entertainer."

Does anyone really believe Bill Maher gave $1M to Obama?

I don’t for one second think that Maher has given one cent to anyone. He comes across as self-centered, cold (remember, he’s not only an atheist, but an atheist with contempt and hatred constantly spewing for people of faith), and a big cheapskate. Surely, celebrities give money to Democrats, but not even the multi-millionaire big Hollywood stars give away that much money. And Maher isn’t even in their league, unless he makes more than I think he does.

Bill Maher and Alexandra Pelosi have just done a video of southerners speaking the truth that they are trying to portray as a bunch of poor, dumb hicks.

I saw it on FOXNews yesterday

Oh, I’m sure there was a friendly wink and nod. Maher understands. He will do whatever he is asked to do to help Ubama’s re-election effort. He was asked to let Axelrod off the hook and keep his mouth shut about it. He glady obliged.

Fluke’s handlers will be shutting her up shortly ..... the fake issue she’s been spouting off on has the Prez’s poll numbers going down - even women aren’t buying into her spiel. Maybe she can take Axelrod’s vacant spot on Maher’s show and they can commiserate on what it’s like under the Obama bus.

They been saying this since early 2009,

If you go back to what started this it was that one freeper lecturing me what ‘the left’ is saying about Rush ref #597, as if that makes any sense at all to do.

It was pretty obviously he didnt actually listen to what ‘the left’ says to determine what ‘the left’ says but instead a third party source(maybe even Rush) to tell him, something I been warning NOT to do for years.
If you really want to know what someone is saying then you should listen to what they are saying, unless you are a cult member and want to live in a bubble of fantasy.

It makes no sense that they would call him a entertainer the past 2+ years with their theme about him that you reference.

Yay! Let’s have Axelrod beat up Romney! Like that makes any sense at all. Romney’s comment isn’t a problem.

The problem is that Obama is using Fluke to distract from the assault on religious freedom. The good news is it didn’t work.

Obama’s polling numbers are terrible this week.

I think he is using Fluke to distract from high gas prices. I am not convinced that the mandate-Catholic institution fight has hurt Obama any up till now, and I think that the fight is rallying the Dems side more than the Republican side, to any extent that it is doing anything.

After all, those mandates dont take place until AFTER the election(2013) , as do tax increases and defense cuts. GAS prices are going up RIGHT NOW, not waiting till 2013.

Another demorat strategy blows up in their face - what we like to see happen to bomb carriers and terrorists. They lose a few fingers and they may decide to stop what they’re doing and act like a decent human being.....but I wouldn’t make book on it.

I agree. He’ll take one for the team. He knows that they love him, but for now, it’s just not the right time to date him. People might talk.

RE :”Next year, the excrement will hit the fan.

If Obama is re-elected he will do everything he can to makes sure all those Bush tax rates expire. I don't see any upside to him extending them again. And since it's at the beginning of the new congress by election 2014 many voters won't be sure who to blame as each side will blame the other for two years.

If a Republicans was to win I have little idea what they would do, but I am not optimistic. Dole said that a POTUS Romney would do a great job working with Dems to get things done.

You can’t work with Dems....you beat the $hit out of them on TV, like Reagan did.

If you go back to what started this it was that one freeper lecturing me what ‘the left’ is saying about Rush ref #597, as if that makes any sense at all to do

I remember that thread. At first, I thought that poster had a point, because I remember a leftist radio guy on the same local station that broadcasts Rush here (KLBJ Austin) 2 or 3 years ago saying that Rush was an "entertainer." But then I looked around and found no evidence of leftists calling him an "entertainer" today. On the contrary, I found exclusively comments like that of Maureen Dowd "he has become the puppet master of the Republican Party." (Dowd is crazy as usual. Santorum, for example, called him an "entertainer.")

There is a certain group that I call the "Madame Defarge" crowd, others have called then "Harpies," etc. They see their job on FR as looking for those who do not embrace their dogma. Even if you link the actual words spoken by the people involved, the truth is less important than ideological unity. By their standards, sickoflibs blasphemed against Limbaugh by not using the left's language that he a great GOP leader.

I don't know if that poster you referred to is in that group, but their MO is pretty much the same.

I will defend Rush when he is right, but I don't think he always is. He is not sacrosanct.

Either way, I think that if Santorum, Gingrich, Boehner, etc., had publicly agreed with Limbaugh's original statements, foul language and all, it would have turned out better for Obama.

After all, those mandates dont take place until AFTER the election(2013) , as do tax increases and defense cuts. GAS prices are going up RIGHT NOW, not waiting till 2013.

That's one reason why Obama is trying to delay/discourage Israel's strike against Iran. After the election, who in the regime cares what the price of gas is?

I didn’t see the video. Will try to find it. One of the things that is happening in our part of Texas though is that we are getting a whole lot of new residents who are bringing their east coast and west coast garbage with them. They will never get it. Wish they would go back where they came from.

That's why we moved out of Austin. My US Representative here (Williamson county) has a 0 out of 100 "progressive rating."
