The story is a bit unclear, but if you read the first part, the invading dog was killed. Evidently it hurt the man’s pitbull badly first.
You are correct. Post in haste, correct at leisure!
A bit unclear? Dayelin Roman from the TimesUnion needs to take remedial writing.
On Wednesday afternoon three pit bulls from a neighbor broke into our dogs yard where they had been let out for their afternoon potty stop. My wife tried to break them up before I was able to get my shotgun and got attacked. When I got there one of our dogs was down on the ground with all three of the pit bulls on top. I shot two of them before the owner showed up to grab the third. My wife had to go to the emergency room with bites on her hand and arm and our dog had to go to the vet with multiple wounds. Both will heal with time but both are pretty sore. The result for the two pit bulls? Lets just say I grew up hunting with my dad and grandfather and both thought that a miss was wasting shells. I did happen to load with deer slugs.
After a nice long walk, we turned around and headed home and... here comes the crazy woman again with her dogs still off-leash! She shouted at me in this real peeved whiny voice from about 75 yards away to cross over the foot bridge to other side of the river so as not to agitate her precious babies. Like how dare I walk my dog anywhere in public on a leash!
So I sympathize with the guy who had to shoot the dog and its owner... Oh, wait... He didn't shoot the owner, did he? So just forget I said that part.
I think you mea culpaed too soon. The article didn’t say he shot the dog to death. It said he shot and killed the dog. So, for all we know, he might have given the dog an overdose of sleeping pills.
If he had killed the dog, would they have made him an honorary cop?
Ooops! He did kill the dog.
I’m just curious as to the neighbor’s reaction. Did he just shrug and head down to the ‘hood to get some more pit bulls?
He has to leave the neighborhood.
Is he the Marquis of Queensbury or something?
LOL He told me there would be no hard feelings for shooting his dogs. Can you believe it? We manage the RV park where they are staying and yes they will be leaving when the quaranteen the health department put on them is over.
Why did he contact the police? Seems like that’s asking for trouble.
good shooting partner. I’m glad to hear your family is OK.
They were staying in the RV park that we manage until their new home is done but will be leaving us their RV when they leave after the quarantine is over that the health department put on them.
It’s New York, he’ll probably go to jail either way for daring to protect his property with a gun.
That is weird. Most people would have some kind of emotional reaction if their dogs are killed, no matter what the circumstances.
And you note in post 18 that this guy and his wife and leaving you his RV? Wow. This is one strange dude.
