I just read that on one of the Michigan blogs. One of the more influential bloggers in the state is predicting at least if the election was today, 9 districts to Santorum, 3 to Romney, and 2 that can go either way.

I've been avoiding posting at all to any threads that sounded like "Gingrich" threads. But there are two things here that have drawn me in to make a comment.

Gingrich, who has dumbfounded political pundits before with his repeated surges

I guess lookng at national polls, you might say there were TWO surges, not "repeated". But looking at actual elections, there's been ONE surge. He came on strong, won SC, and then faded away in Florida, and hasn't really done anything since. That could change, but it's hardly evidence of "repeated surges".

Second, I praised Gingrich two days ago for staying out of Michigan, where he had no chance and it was critically important that Romney LOSE to Santorum, not because of delegates but because of the huge defeat that would be for Romney to lose a state he won easily 4 years ago.

So if Gingrich is now going to pretend he can win there, and in doing so he attacks Santorum in Michigan, and Romney ends up winning, we'll have Gingrich to blame for a Romney resurgence. I therefore take back my praise of Gingrich's cooperation in killing off Romney, if he actually follows through on this.

I will note AGAIN that Santorum ran NO ads in Florida, and he said NOTHING bad about Gingrich in Florida. He left Florida, giving Gingrich a clean shot at Romney (Santorum didn't quit the race and endorse Gingrich, but Gingrich doesn't have to quit and endorse Santorum for Santorum to win Michigan -- Gingrich just has to make it clear that he has no interest in competing, so his pro-Romney superpac funder doesn't spend millions attacking Santorum in Michigan).

It’s been quoted repeatedly in the news that gas was $1.85 when BHO took office.

I had a few negative things to say about Michele.

This was not one of them.

Stumping for a realistic, low cost energy program should be a major push for any conservative. Newt, Santorum, and even Romney seem to believe that now.........
