Stop believing international socialist propagandists that want to destroy the U.S. border with free trade and illegals.During the 1800’s The U.S. used to have a very small limited government and high tariffs. This is how the U.S. became the world leader, and most technologically advanced society ever with the highest living standards. Read Pat Buchanan’s books or articles to see how free trade ruined America.

For since the Revolution, America has had a standard of living that has been the envy of the world. From the Civil War through the 1920s, as we became the greatest manufacturing power the world had ever seen, our workers enjoyed pay and benefits that were unmatched anywhere.Detroit the future of America:Yet our exports in those decades were double our imports, and our trade surpluses annually added 4 percent to the gross national product. How did we do it?
We taxed the products of foreign factories and workers and used the revenue to finance the government. We imposed tariffs of up to 40 percent on foreign goods entering our market and used the tariff money to keep taxes low in the United States.
We made foreigners pay a price to get their products into our market and made them pay to help finance our government. We put our own country and people first.

.
So it doesn't take balls, it takes brains to oppose free trade. Even little things, like admitting that we don't have free trade with China, or that raising tariffs hurts some U.S. manufacturers and helps others, or that doubling the price of gasoline will hurt everybody, or that the current federal budget deficit is $1.3 trillion, and that the Amazon Kindle and Wal-Mart have nothing to do with its size.
Whatever then.
I’ll wish you well (and some sort of unlikely pro-American epiphany) until next time.
Democrats and your free trade destroyed Detroit. And these will destroy what is left of the U.S.A..
Why don’t you answer how can the U.S.A defend itself, or even survive if we can’t produce any high tech products nor any product soon, but instead just live on debt borrowed from China to pay for more China crap?
U.S. has lost ability to manufacture high tech products proof:

From there, it shouldn't be too difficult to understand why tariffs won't save the U.S., either, until our federal government is brought under control.
Bye, sweetie.
The problems are ratcheting up the minimum wage, handing out more and more freebeesfree freebies to welfare bums and turning our education system into a cesspool of drooling morons and liberal sycophants. That stuff is obliterating our high tech sector and all the tariffs in the world will not fix it.
Today’s California IS our Greece...if Greece were being overrun by unassimilationist Turks...
The Japanese lost almost all their first team of experienced naval pilots in the first year of operations after Pearl Harbor, many of them at Midway. That was about 1,000 trained pilots and aircrew in a year.
They never recovered.
So how long would our F-22's last in sustained combat operations against a major opponent flying Sukhoi and Mikoyan-Gurevich iron, including the T-50 and J-20? Do the math.
Concept good. Graphic execution needs improvement.
But still, China Today is more like Greece than USA.
We need to keep in mind, America is a big place. Most of US soil have nothing built on it. Yet today, the US have more homes, infrastructure, etc. than in 1949. Keep in mind, the US provides a higher standard of living for its 310 million citizens today than the 160 million or so in 1949. The homes are bigger, more electricity are brought into each home today than in 1949. The shrinking of one city is not evidence of a nation in decline. What did San Jose or Seattle look like in 1949 compared to today? Or, what did the suburbs of Detroit look like in 1949 vs today? In both cases, those areas are much more built up today than in 1949. Sure, you could give me examples of many cities in America that are either dying or decaying. But I can also give you just as many cities that are vibrant and growing. From Atlanta, Georgia to Miami to Phoenix, AZ. Detroit is a big city, but all across America, are many small and medium sized towns that have a smaller population today than in 1949. The young people moved else where to the Seattle's, the Austin, Texas, the San Francisco's, the Atlanta's, the Miami's, etc.
The decay of Detroit is hardly an indication of America on the decline. Visit Seattle, Austin, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, etc. and the many suburbs surrounding Detroit and you'll see where everyone went.
