Diminishing the Constitution

It's often assumed that America is different from other countries in that other countries don't have America's Constitution. But the obvious fact is that all countries have had the American Constitution ever since the Eighteenth Century. What other countries do not have is governments whose officers respect the limits the Constitution imposes on government - on themselves.

And now we don't, either - and we are in a fix. Just how bad a fix, we shall see as the months and years play out.
