None of this possibly could be having to do with that big, unchanging ball of fire in the sky.

(note the 3-month trend line)

I have to wonder why it is that every time there is a cold spell or a hot spell in Europe, hundreds of people die. When we have hot or cold spells in the U.S., there may a couple deaths here or there, but nothing like the death tolls in Europe. Makes me think there is something besides just the temperature causing so many deaths.

That carbon tax seems to be working.

In my four years in Sicily this has been the coldest winter of them all. And we aren’t getting anything near as bad as Northern Europe.

The jet-stream explanation is correct, being pushed around by oscillations in the Pacific Ocean. This stuff here, and in Europe, is weather-- not climate. The two should not be discussed as if they were one, either by us or by warmist hysterics, who admittedly are far more likely than we to be the perpetrators of misleading junk science.

Enjoy the temperate weather in the US--next year we could just as easily be getting what Europe is getting now.

“The lack of readiness should come as no surprise because for decades the sensationalist message of global warming has dominated the public area,”

Global Warming = the Hindenburg of public policy.

Now if 600 had died from a heat wave we'd all know that an oil pipeline was to blame.

Far more than 600 have died. The winter death rate for Europe and similar climates is much higher than the summer death rate. When people die in a heat wave they are also in the 100's from heat stroke, etc. But the heat waves are always presented in the biased media as "excess" deaths over the summer baseline. That's so they can say there were 1000's of deaths. But the summer baseline is low, and the excess is always lower than the normal winter deaths (never mind an extreme winter).
