Good Conduct Medal = Alive and Breathing Medal
Do you think the deputy was trying to go JBT on the Marine and the Marine decided he wasn’t going to put up with that crap?
Plus no Court Marshall or Captains Mast.
I meant Office Hours.
It's been a long time!
I always referred to mine as my "Didn't Get Caught" Medal.
Details are sketchy.
Another report says the Marine had his two daughters in the car with him. He was being pulled over for a traffic violation when he drove into a school parking lot and then crashed through a gate. Weird to say the least.
Good Conduct Medal = I Didn't Get Caught Medal
National Defense Service Medal could more accurately be described as the Firewatch/Alive and Breathing medal
That does makes the story hard to assess.
This incident happened Tuesday and the police have released *no* details about it to the media?
14 years in and an E5?
Agree, not a good sign. And this guy had two young kids in the back.
Did the marine have a gun, weapon? Where was he shot, in the back, front?
If no weapon, what provoked the shoot?
Generally if there is ample evidence to support a good shoot, the DA etc would be broadcasting it by now.
Funny no mention of a weapon???
The lack of detail from the OCSD is evidence that this was a bad shoot, and some of the comments on the Patch seem to believe that.
Ping to those on the list.
Thanks for the ping. It doesn’t sound good that the OCSD has nothing at all to say.
We don’t need a reason to shoot any civilian whenever we want, we are above the Law and can execute you on site for any reason we may determine after you are dead, merely questioning us or looking at a Police Officer funny is grounds to use Deadly Force. Don’t believe it, see Kelly Thomas and Doug Zirby, and many, many others.
First the officer is “afraid for his life” now he was “afraid for the daughters”.
The story has changed.
Ping for a further update at #18
The plot thickens..................................
...................................................
“Due to Loggins’ failure to follow the commands and his irrational behavior, including statements he made, the deputy had a deep concern for the safety of the children,” Amormino said. “In the deputy’s mind, it was unsafe for [Loggins] to drive away with the girls.”
Amormino said he couldn’t disclose what the “irrational” behaviors or statements entailed, but said Loggins didn’t appear to be intoxicated.
When Loggins got back into the Yukon and either started the engine or began trying to drive away, the deputy opened fire, shooting Loggins through the driver side window, which shattered.
Amormino acknowledged that this version of events differed from an earlier account released by the Sheriff’s Department, in which the deputy reportedly opened fire because he feared for his own life.

Shooting at a car with children in it? WTF?
