Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado show that if Romney doesn’t dedicate substantial money toward destroying the competition...someone other than Romney wins.
Optimistic may be the corerct word. Facts: Santorum has only won caucus States and Beauty contests. In total vote count he is 3rd. Paul’s and Santoruns total vote count don’t even come up to Newt’s, much less Mitt’s. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/republican_vote_count.html
This article may be a bit optimistic,
Yep in that MO was a ‘for show’ only and Noot wasn’t even on the ballot.
I think the likelihood of this going to the convention just went up dramatically.
[I called Santorums 800 number to send a contribution and was directed to a call center in India.]
Sucker........Romney thanks you. Keep that conservative split alive at all costs!
Why are we paying attenion to Rick? Romney will be the nominee! We are so lucky, we don’t have to do anything, he has been chosen for us!
I don’t believe you. Nice try though.
But Newt WAS on the ballot in MN and CO and came in 41th out of 4!
yep..
I agree. this will be a convention decision.. While I love Rick, and of course he would get my vote if he won the nod, Obama will eat him for lunch in the general. Physically he looks like a light weight..and the physical thing is a bug factor with many women..I hate to say it, but it’s true. Mind you, Obama isn’t exactly John Wayne..but he carries the weight of having been President and the corresponding physical aura and presence that comes with that.
Sad, that we could not come up with some kind of strong manly candidate. They all opted out of this contest.
But Newt WAS on the ballot in MN and CO and came in 4th out of 4!
How? Rick didn’t get delegate #1 from any of those states. That’s right: NOT ONE DELEGATE!!!
A funny thing happened on the way to the coronation, Rick Santorum has passed the “electability” test.
btw; stick it in your ear.

And who knows, Santorum could face problems. Politico:

Lobbying, D.C. Background
Endorsed Romney in 2008
Backed Arlen Specter: In 2004, Santorum endorsed Specter (liberal) over Pat Toomey (conservative) in the Pennsylvania Republican senatorial primary, a nod that has since come to haunt him. Specter defeated Toomey, but would switch parties in 2009.
Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit: Santorum voted for Medicare Part D, an big expansion in the size of government, which has irritated some conservatives. In fact, the senator played a key role in urging his colleagues to vote for the costly plan.
