I’m hoping that Santorum just put a three-torpedo spread into the myth of Mitt’s “electability.” He (Romney) was way down compared to his 2008 totals in all three states.

I am SO excited about this. GO RICK!!
ANYONE BUT ROMNEY! (and Paul)
The state-run news media labeling things like “stunner” reveals their complete ignorance of the middle part of the country. Watching selected foxnews personalities try to process their way through the fact that Romney didn’t win a huge victory in any of the states is telling. They don’t even begin to comprehend how out of touch they are with a large part of the country.
Time for
Ann Coulter to abandon Mitt Flipper Romney.
This calls for a little celebration!
Santorum’s speech that day may be the best speech I have ever heard live.....I still remember it today....the energy in the room was indescribable.
....everyone walked out thinking he will be president someday or ‘I really hope he is president someday’
(( 1998 was before Santorum spent much time in the horribly corrupting place we call the U.S. Senate which has a tendency to dirty even the best people (Yes, supporting Spector was a really bad decision ))
U.S. Senator Rick Santorum delivered this commencement address to the Grove City College graduating Class of 1998:

Mucho religious voters in all three states helped immensely, as did the timing of Obama’s mandate for Catholic orgs to provide abortifacient drugs. Those voters KNOW that the milquetoast Mormon is not the guy to fight such attacks on religious liberties. Santorum gave an impassioned speech on that last night, going far beyond the usual talking points, and hammering Obama on his 1st Amend attack. Well played!
If not Newt, then I’m glad Rick was the big winner. I’m sure Ann Coulter will be doing some overtime work on the talk shows.
Finally. The REAL Family Values candidate!
Santorum can’t win? MITT OBAMNEY can’t win! Santorum has a better chance, and at least we keep our conservative principles!
Mr. Santorum won 55% of the Missouri vote, while Mr. Romney followed with 25%. Texas Rep. Ron Paul was trailing with 12%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich wasn’t on the Missouri ballot.
Great news. This shows what happens to Romney when the conservative vote consolidates behind ONE candidate.
This old Marine has been waiting for this day and now I am behind Rick 100%. He is young, a straight shooter and carry’s no baggage. Right now he needs $$ support and I did my part even before Colorado results were announced. There is a reason for this and I pray it continues.
Does anybody understand the mind of a liberal?
From one of my Facebook friends:
[Santorum] has also said that same-sex marriage shouldn’t happen because same-sex couples don’t “benefit society.” I wonder what he thinks about my childless heterosexual marriage. Perhaps this is why he wants to ban my birth control...
She’s childless yet takes birth control and the irony is lost on her.
Sheesh
I wouldn’t vote for Mitt, and I wouldn’t vote for Ron Paul, no matter what.
That leaves either Newt or Rick, or a brokered convention.
I haven’t said much on these threads, because I don’t want to be negative. But I did say that it would be nice if Ron Paul would only drop out—but he never will. I did NOT want Rick to drop out, because we need a conservative backup for Newt, unfortunately.
I will just quietly say that Rick did a stupid thing once, when he endorsed Arlen Specter. But put it in perspective, the way it was. Bush rode back in on a wave of enthusiasm in 2004, and frittered it all away. By 2006, the Republicans were underdogs, and the Democrats were favored. That’s when they got their big majority. That was the main reason why Santorum lost the election—because Bush and Rove dragged the whole party down.
Why did he endorse Specter? Several reasons. Bush and Rove twisted his arm and said that they NEEDED Specter, the only possible winner in that race, in order to get their SCOTUS choices confirmed. Back then, everyone still thought that Rove was a genius, although that didn’t last too much longer.
Second, although Specter was pro-choice, he promised to help confirm pro-life judges. And he did, before he went back off the rails.
Third, Rick said that Specter had endorsed him, previously, so he was just returning the favor. He owed him one. Without Specter’s “moderate” endorsement, it’s doubtful that a conservative like Rick could have won in Pennsylvania. He only did so because conservative religious voters had turned out for him in large numbers.
Rick screwed up once, if you like, by endorsing Specter. How many times has Newt screwed up. What was his excuse for endorsing Dede Scozzafava over a strong conservative, other than desire to ingratiate himself with the RNC? Scozzafava withdrew and through her seat to a Democrat, and what had been a reliable Republican seat is now a Democrat seat. Not only that, but Newt and Scozzafava weakened the NYState Conservative Party’s influence over the NYState GOP, which doesn’t give a damn about pro-life or pro-family support unless the Conservative Party pushes them on it.
At least Specter kept his promise to confirm pro-life judges, before he went off the rails and switched parties. By doing that he killed his political chances. And the end result was a Republican seat—the conservative who was shafted earlier by Rove and Bush actually got back in—whereas in the NY 23rd the end result has been a Democrat seat and a destructive breakdown in relations between the NY GOP and Conservative Parties that will continue to be damaging.
I’d say Newt’s endorsement has a lot more to answer for than Rick’s.
Gingrich supporters can still take heart that, according to the latest survey released by Rasmussen this morning, Newt is back to being statistically TIED with Obama in a head-to-head presidential matchup (43% to 46%, respectively). I think both Gingrich AND Santorum are viable contenders at this point and I liked someone’s suggestion here last night that Gingrich and Santorum should maximize their limited financial resources by dividing the remaining states between the two of them according to how well they poll at each individually and then turn them into one-on-one contests against Romney. I’m a Santorum supporter, but I’d be fine with Gingrich winning the nomination as well.
Oh, and I love the fact that Santorum has now officially won more STATES than “Mr. Inevitable and Most Electable” Mitt Romney!

With this bit of encouragement, we’ll never get rid of the RINO voting little weasel.
The telling thing with these results is the amount Mitt has lost support from 2008. HEY R-e - do you get it yet? ANYBODY but Mitt!! Let’s go for a brokered convention and Sarah will lead the way against the Obamination.
