I am not American and observe US politics from abroad (Ireland). There are a few things I would say about this film. First, this will be one of the few hollywood biopics where the actress playing the female lead is nowhere near as beautiful as the real life subject, Sarah Palin. The second thing that amuses me me no end is the condecension of Ms Moore, that, while Governor Palin had her brilliant moments, but ‘did not have the experience to lead the country’.
That one really tickled my funny bone. Compared to whom? Barrack Obama? Hillary Clinton? Try as I might I could not unearth a solitary experience or any substantive accomplishment on the part of either of these specimens that was ‘relevant’ to running anything, let alone being president. The only thought more frightening than having Barrack Obama at the heart of the Presidency was the thought that a buffon like Joe Biden was being placed ‘within a heartbeat’ of that role.
The third thing about this film is that the characterization of Palin is based on the book Game Change. The sources are people like campaign managers Stephen Scmidht and Nicola Wallace who needed a scapegoat to cover up their own hopeless ineptitude. The other sources were ‘anonymous’ staffers who were, by reliable accounts, surrogates for Mitt Romney who were anxious to kneecap Palin coming out of the gate for 2012.
How Americans can allow themselves to be fooled by people as hollow as Obama and Romney leaves me in despair, and I can only pray that in the coming months all that is deep and wise in the American people will re-assert itself before next November. If Sarah Palin has done nothing else in her life, her exposure of the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the mass media and entertainment industry will rank high.
As always: you are a jerk.
And Hollyweird wonders why attendance at first run movies at the box office has been falling for the past 15 to 20 years.
No one wants to buy the Leftist mass media’s newspapers, their movies, or anything else they produce.
Like a little kid: you are name-calling.
You first came to my attention when you were trashing (and I’m not making this up, folks!) GEERT WILDERS. The one man who is fighting Islamic radicalism in Europe. It taught me everything I need to know about you.
Two things I take issue with:
1. " The only thought more frightening than having Barrack Obama at the heart of the Presidency was the thought that a buffon like Joe Biden was being placed within a heartbeat of that role." No, it's the only thing AS frightening, etc. etc.!
2. "How Americans can allow themselves to be fooled by people as hollow as Obama and Romney leaves me in despair ...." Democrats like Obama, and depraved politicians like Romney, PLAY DIRTY. They cheat -- they have to cheat because if they didn't, they'd LOSE, and they'd LOSE because the majority of Americans see through such hollow, destructive clowns. WE ARE THE MAJORITY. It's why they have to cheat -- they's lack the votes to win if they didn't.
But WHAT a wonderful, well-written, spot-on post! Spot-on observations of the American Hollywood scene in politics!
I do not find European politicians of any stripe to be a person to be fawned over.
If you truly paid attention you would realize that I object to fawning over people.
Try to pay attention, you’ll do just fine.
It’s not name-calling, it’s describing you. Calling you a poopy head would be name calling, since I don’t think anybody actually thinks you’re a poopy head. You are a jerk though. You know you are and you reveal in it.
I’ll say it again: you are a jerk, a major jerk and you undermine everything that is good about FR. Why they keep you hanging around is beyond me...
"They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."
And this is, in fact, completely true.
Can You Really See Russia From Alaska? (Yes, but only the boring parts.)
Yeah, well.. everyone has a personality.
And the word is "revel".. but you knew that.
What I find so hard to wrap my mind around is why it's such a huge issue
for some folks when anything (other than fawning) is done to Sarah Palin.
She's a news commentator, what's the big deal?
This because I dislike fawning over people? OK. Whatever you say.
Go forth and fawn over whomever you wish.
Sarah Palin never said she could see Russia from her house, that was Tina Fey.
Cheers,
Jim
Now that I know you dislike people fawning over other people, I think I’ll will fawn over you. It’ll be tough, but I think I can handle it.
Really, you needn’t bother.
It’s not a bother. I think I will enjoy it.
Like the jerk that you are, you don’t know the difference between “fawning” and “admiring.”
I’m looking forward to Tom Hanks and company producing the movie based on Jodi Kantor’s book, “The Obamas.” The working title is “Angry Black Woman”.
;)
“I can see Kenya from the White House.”
