And I question whether the GOP establishment would ever employ the same harsh tactics they used on Newt against Obama. I didn’t see it in 2008. Many of these same characters sat on their thumbs in ‘08 and let Obama escape unvetted.

So true and very happy to see Palin point this out. Many Republicans seem very happy to rip conservatives apart, but find it near impossible to do the same to the real leftist enemy.

Think of how frustrating it must have been for Sarah to be running with McCain, a guy who spent more time reassuring us that we had nothing to worry about from Obama than he did actually trying to vet the guy.

I don’t see Rush as anti-Newt.

Palin: "Look at Newt Gingrich, what’s going on with him, via the establishment’s attacks.
They’re trying to crucify this man and rewrite history, and rewrite what it is that he has
stood for all these years."

The GOP split is coming...and Sarah is going to lead the way. If Mitt is the nominee, it will happen.

To: who knows what evil?

Can you imagine if Newt is the nominee and were to pick Sarah for his VP? Liberal heads (and I include establishment GOP in that description) would literally be exploding all over the country.

As Rush and others pointed out, if Nancy Reagan had ever thought that Newt was in any way an opponent of her beloved husband, she would never have even appeared on a stage with him, let alone presented him with an award and said such kind things about him.

This misses the point for me.

I think it's of course ridiculous to claim that Newt Gingrich was "an opponent" of Ronald Reagan.

But the fact is that, typical of Newt, he didn't always exercise the best judgment in how, when, where and in what words he voiced his views.

Recognizing that this man has a history political brain farts is not out-of-bounds. In fact, it is one of the reasons for and results of a robust primary.

Moreover, and also typical of Gingrich, none of this would have had the impact it had had he, himself, not overreached (in practical political terms) by his own characterization of his relationship with President Reagan and Reaganism.

That said, Palin is exactly right that Mittens is in absolutely no position to say Word One about any of this.

I think the world of Sarah Palin, but I have not appreciated her coyness in her support of Newt. She stated the people of South Carolina should vote for Newt "to keep the primary season going," which is not the same as saying "so Newt has a better chance of winning." But at the same time what's happened in terms of opposition to Newt is exactly what was predictable as the primary season "kept going."

I initially thought Palin's seeming strategery was pretty smart. Now I think she was wrong and somewhat dishonest (disingenuous) to not endorse Newt, if that's what she was actually trying to accomplish, rather than simply claiming the goal was "keeping it going and see what happens."

Pssst! Sarah! That’s why I call the GOP the Republican Socialist Party that full of RINOs - Pubbie on the outside and Leftist on the inside! Think of them as Pubbies in drag or wolves in sheep’s clothing.

The GOP split is coming...and Sarah is going to lead the way. If Mitt is the nominee, it will happen.

What needs to happen is a counter to the RNC, which will find good people to run against RINO incumbents in primaries, and fund them to victory.

Us. They don’t even care that the mask has come off.

A ton of freepers and long time Rush listeners heard Rush dumping on Newt and throwing it in our faces in a mocking manner, yesterday.

Rush has been supporting Mitt since he ran last time, and the debate last night was all important to the Mitt supporters, that is what gave us “Bloody Thursday”, a day that will live in infamy.

It is time for wide circulation in Florida of this 2008 video of Michelle Bachman literally paying homage to Gingrich and his role in the conservative movement, here

Send to all Floridians you know.
