Obama doesn’t realize that HE is the national crisis. Romney is nothing more than a stiff politician who doesn’t see that we are in a make or break moment in our country. I have come to the conclusion the days of concern about Newt’s flaws are over for me. We need a fighter, and if he is the catalyst to tear this Romney-led Republican party apart, so be it. Our country hangs in the balance.

—You’re on a conservative forum that supports Newt Gingrich, do you support mittens?—

With all due respect, I think all republican candidates have support represented on this site. This isn’t a “Gingrich” site. It’s a conservative site.

That said, anyone that becomes rude or starts spamming on behalf of a candidate will probably be zotted. I say that because that is the cause and effect I’ve been seeing the last few months, and especially the last few weeks.

FWIW, of those standing, I’m in for Gingrich.

Mitt’s problem can be summed up in one word. It is a word many women (and some of us men) use to describe a person that jumps through all the right hoops and seems to have all the bases covered, regarding “winning friends and influencing people”, but the whole think just feels phony.

These people are said to be “saccharine”. That is how I see Romney.

I know that all politicians lie, cheat and otherwise do things to get what they want (as do all human beings to one degree or another), but good ones, at the national level, at least come across as somewhat sincere. Romney comes off as reading from a script, all be it a very well rehearsed script. But it rings hollow, and with many people they can not even put their finger on what they don’t like about him. They just don’t “trust” that he is who he appears to be.

It is almost as if he is “too perfect” to many people.

Then there are those of us that look at his record and realize that what words leave his lips are completely irrelevant, because they rarely converge with what he actually does. That makes listening to him a complete waste of time.

I sometimes think we are screwed no matter who the candidate is. If it is Romney, he won’t generate the excitement to get people out to vote for him (and if he did, so what, we have him as President?). If it is Newt, these establishment Republicans won’t vote for him and he may not get the numbers to win. Obama and Co. will hammer the ‘Newt baggage’ and the independents will drop off because they are so damn fickle. I hate being so pessimistic, and my only hope is that Newt creates such a fire of support that folks will realize that this is crisis time.

Mormons act sweet because they believe it's godly to be kind to lesser beings. That's the long and the short of it. If you were told you were the only person on the planet who wasn't going to hell, and in fact thought that this life was a stopover on your way to being god of your own universe, you'd try to get along with the talking apes too.

Of course, it goes without saying you'd be $hi+ brained crazy, but there you go.

... all topped off by a showy entrance by Romney, who arrived in his big campaign bus that drove right into the room.

Amusing. That's a stunt that Karl Rove used back in high school.

A number of the front pages have this subtitle ...
Win Throws Wrench in GOP Race
Well well well, that shows that the GOP was planning a coronation of Mitt. It probably still is planning to pit Mitt against Obama, that being the least disruptive to status quo.

I asked “Why do you say that?”

And this site (owner) supports Newt Gingrich.

You hit the nail on the head. We’re imperfect beings. This guy wants to win our votes by sharing that “he once tried a sip of beer” and that he gets wild and crazy with his “vice” - psst, people, he has an occasional cup of cocoa.

We’re in the fight of our lives against an agenda that stands against everything we hold dear. Which would you choose, the guy that thinks he’s living on the edge with a squirt of Hershey’s syrup in his warm milk, or the guy who looks the smug media types square in the eye, and then proceeds to rip their heads off?

I cast my vote with the head ripper. :)
